Seat Belt extension

  • Didn't read the above post to mine but seems we had the same thought about being pregnant. I had to ask for a seatbelt extender on a plane when pregnant, was fine on flight out but two weeks later I couldn't get seatbelt around bump comfortably!
It's only a bargain if you need it.

Could be pregnant and not fat??

On this subject. My rear seatbelts are too short to go around a baby car seat. I can get my seat in just about with a click in base but my friend's baby seat is just too big so we can't go anywhere. Anyone know of any solutions?

I'm not certain, but I believe the extenders referred to by others on this thread are probably designed for this use.

I would suggest getting expert advice from the baby seat supplier as to how best to safely install their seat in your car.

Very true but as her username starts mum could she be larger than normal because she is expecting?

Aside from the fact that the OP would likely have mentioned pregnancy if it applied, a seatbelt will fit around a healthy pregnant woman's baby bulge. You have to be very big indeed to have a problem. Of obese proportions, not merely overweight.

The one mentioned isn't suitable. Expert advice is it doesn't fit LOL. Just wondered if anyone knew of something I didn't while we were on the subject.

They did say larger than normal. Now that could mean larger than someone percieved as being normal, or larger than the op themselves normally are.

I've known people that became quite bloated when they had cancer and had to have a stomach drain fitted similar to a catheter.
Someone else that I mistakenly thought was pregnant was actually waiting for an operation due to swelling.

Or you may be correct and it's someone thats morbidly obese.

Have I stepped into DT by mistake? Just because the OP didn't give a reason why they wanted an extention that allows you to pass judgement and become extremely rude. What if she is carrying twins/triplets that will not give 'healthy pregnant woman's baby bulge'. Also as I said there maybe a multitude of things, as the poster above me has touched on. I just find it amazing that someone who doesn't know the person in question and does not ask questions but immediately posts 'Wouldn't it be better to go on a diet?'. Just goes to show how judgemental the society we now live in has become, someone would rather cause upset than think outside thier little box.
  • Driving is a privilege not a right. If you are too fat, stupid, old, short, blind or have too much of any disability then you should not drive.

Why ? because you are a danger to me, the driver in the other car.

Must be a "gland problem" then, nothing to do with the 10,000 calories gorged each day !

Maybe the op, who you assume is very fat is not a driver and simply wishes to be driven.

I'm not keen on bigots either, but you seem to be able to drive.

But providing you have a valid driving licence, and the driver is following all the laws and regulations that they need to with respect to themselves and the vehicle concerned, then they have the legal right to take that car onto the highway.
