Bailiffs Forcing Entry and Using Restraint - Please Read, Important - Deadline

Well that was worth the read. Thank you everyone. I've only today caught up with this new law they're trying to bring in. I spoke to someone today who says that this has happened in Scotland for years - but I don't know whether this is correct.
I must admit that I was undecided whether to sign as in my simplistic view of life I thought that once the court has issued a warrant there should be a way for those pursuing the debt to regain their money. However, you guys have changed my mind.
I hadn't thought of the violence and lack of policing in these situations. I had not even heard of the link between this and the new ID Scheme - but this makes complete sense. I also read on one of the petitions that the Committee that cleared this, did not have all the facts and this particular clause was not brought to their attention. This all seems very under-hand to me. If not under-hand, then officials have very stupidly certainly missed this very important point which is a huge mistake.
I will, after all, be signing both petitions. I am currently paying off my debt and will never use credit in the future. I (thankfully) have not had the misfortune to have to deal with bailiffs, and hope that I never do.
If this law is passed, what happens to our children in the future, if they have to deal with bailiffs because they forgot to tell the government that they moved home or changed their name?
I'm going to bed shortly, but I'm very worried about the way this country is shaping up. At least the elections are coming and we can all try to make a noise.DMP mutual support number 174Total debt now (April 10) £0! - total paid off £30,221 or 100%I'm now debt free after 6 years!!:jNon smoker since June 2006 :j0 -
