Just been fiddling with Myers Briggs via some discussions with HR, and it struck me that it'd be interesting having a look at the personality types of some of the regulars here.

Anyone fancy having a go? Takes about 10 minutes.
I'm an INTJ incidentally. Wikipedia gives good definitions of the types and it fits quite well.

INTJ
The description fits. All Rationals are good at planning operations, but Masterminds are head and shoulders above all the rest in contingency planning. Complex operations involve many steps or stages, one following another in a necessary progression, and Masterminds are naturally able to grasp how each one leads to the next, and to prepare alternatives for difficulties that are likely to arise any step of the way. Trying to anticipate every contingency, Masterminds never set off on their current project without a Plan A firmly in mind, but they are always prepared to switch to Plan B or C or D if need be.
Masterminds are rare, comprising no more than one to two percent of the population, and they are rarely encountered outside their office, factory, school, or laboratory. Although they are highly capable leaders, Masterminds are not at all eager to take command, preferring to stay in the background until others demonstrate their inability to lead. Once they take charge, however, they are thoroughgoing pragmatists.
Masterminds are certain that efficiency is indispensable in a well-run organization, and if they encounter inefficiency -- any waste of human and material resources -- they are quick to realign operations and reassign personnel. Masterminds do not feel bound by established rules and procedures, and traditional authority does not impress them, nor do slogans or catchwords. Only ideas that make sense to them are adopted; those that don't, aren't, no matter who thought of them. Remember, their aim is always maximum efficiency.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

I'm another INTJ.....done that test 3 times now (over about 4 or 5 years) and it has been the same each time.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Did it again, same result.
Interesting stuff.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

It's supposed to be the same - useful for personal development and helps you understand the working styles in teams, so quite good to know your colleagues profile to improve teamwork.0 -
I've known mine for years - got interested when I picked up a book about it while sitting in a library waiting for LNE to come out of a meeting.
I'm ENFJ.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
INTJ again.0

yep, sorry Hamish, I though you were quoting INTJ in response to my post but realised you'd done it on re-reading.
We need a few of the uberbears now really, very interested to see where they sit (no agenda, genuine interest)0 -
Interesting idea for a thread, BTW - thanks julieq.
But what's with all the INTJs on this board? They're not a particulary big section of the population as a whole.
Actually, I suppose one could expect something like HP to appeal to TJ people, and debate of this kind to appeal to N rather than S people. Furthermore, one would expect E people to be out there having RL relationships rather than talking to pixels online - expect Es like me who find the online world a substitute for the RL interaction we are cut off from by the limitations of child-rearing.
However, I'd expect the "nice people" to have a higher proportion of Fs than the rest of the debate board, and the relationships board to be full of FJs.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Not a regular, but I did the test anyway and figured I would post as mine is a bit different. I am INTP.
A description is at http://typelogic.com/intp.html and it is spot on! Especially about loving word games.
