I have cleared all payday loans I had and was just looking for advice to see if I could, I dont see all the people on the banking reclaiming section get the responses I have just had here.
Just wondered if anyone had tried, not long started to fully use the forums but by posting and getting my head bitten on straight away dont think ill bother using again!

Oh diddums, get a thick skin and learn to accept it, you hardly got your head bitten off so a slight exaggeration there.

Thank you but that is not what I'm doing - I've already paid up just reclaiming what even the PDL can't tell me the reason why I overpaid ! being reasonable and just following Consumer Direct's advice

Whilst the site may encourage reclaiming, as individuals some of us do not. I don't care what the product is, if you sign up to something you abide by the agreement.

I agree with what your saying in regards to abiding by the agreements etc but the point i am trying to get across is that this site encourages it so it was a reasonable question by the OP to ask. Like the site states "cutting your costs and fighting your corner". My thoughts are that yeah you have to abide by the agreements but we cannot see into the future sometimes circumstances change, the purse strings so to say have to tighten and as responsible lenders these companies have to help us out too and be reasonable and understand the risks they take and also realise that they are not priority debts. I am personally sick of companies taking advantage of customers debit card details for example and dont feel the consumers are protected enough and its a well known practise that if you get in trouble with these companies you have to change bank accounts because they will just try to take whatever they like out of your bank even if you try to make any arrangements with them.

The stress that vanishes once you have paid them all off fully is priceless.

Just make sure they're all paid off fully, delete their details from your mobile / email etc and take it as a lesson learnt. The more you're still thinking about them even in terms of asking them to reclaim money the more likely it is you'll be tempted to take out another loan from them.

I speak from my own experience of being £6k in debt over them.

But that is just irresponsible, and using them in ways that they arent
meant to be used, those of us that use these companies responsibly are
more than happy to bung them £20 or £40 in interest if that money is going
to save us £50 in a few bounced direct debits with the bank.

Used in the correct manner then payday loans are a great tool, for those
of us that don't have access to traditional lines of credit for various reasons.

Id much rather give them the interest than let the bank have the £25 for not
paying a dd for me :rotfl: at least the payday loan company has done something
    to earn its fee.

Used incorrectly when you cant afford to repay what you borrowed
plus the interest without leaving yourself short the next month is indeed
a very slippery slope, but this is down to peoples personal choices, im
sure such people would go down the slippery slope with any other form
    of credit as well.

it really gets tiring seeing threads always popping up about payday loan
companies being the spawn of the devil, when infact they provide a
much needed service, all be it at a slightly inflated cost, tens of thousands
of people use them without issue, but those that do have issues really have
    nobody to blame but themselves.

  • Alot of bashing there from a few people claiming resopnsibility this and that however as the OP has stated did you guys say the same thing to the people who were claiming bank charges etc. I am pretty sure the banks terms and conditions stated the charges for being overdrawn or bouncing direct debits yet this site was encouraging everyone to claim, setting up letter templates etc etc. so what is different to trying the same thing with Pay day lenders?

Yes - I most definately did as did a core of other posters on this site too with perhaps a little more knowledge and understanding of the wider picture.

Personally I was astounded at the bandwagon that rolled in and pretty sickened at the way people took advantage knowing full well that a lot worse was going to come around the corner.Sure enough in the interest of 'fairness' the charging structure has been revamped and now includes a lot more people than it ever did before including those that manage their finances well - at least in the past it was only those that didn't.

    Progress ?

What responses are you referring to? The ones that smack the hard truth?
