Payday Loan - Reclaiming Charges
Hi,
I was just wondering whether anyone had ever tried to reclaim unfair charges or interest rates on payday loans? I know that there are so many different things you can claim for know that I wondered if this was possible.
Even if no one has tried does anyone have any tips or even a sample letter that I could send off? Got to be worth a try.
Thanks

Which bit now seems unfair when agreeing a 4,000% APR loan if not repaid on time?0

That is why this country is in such a mess. I get annoyed reading countless threads about 'trying to claim this' 'trying to claim that'.
Take some responsibility for your own actions for gods sake.
If you took a payday loan, defaulted on the payments and are now being whacked with interest, then sorry, this may seem harsh but tough luck!.
You knew exactly what you were doing when you took the loan. You knew the APR was ridiculous and also that the consequences of defaulting are damaging. Yet you still took the loan and presumably messed up.
Now you want to try and get out of paying what you know you owe.

I actually feel a bit brutal for what I said but so many people need to think about what they are doing and take responsibility for their actions. I can only imagine how bad it is to be trapped in the payday loan trap, but they chose to take the loan. If paid back on time, although a horrendous interest rate, then all good but to default and then decide the interest etc is unfair is just taking the p1ss.0

I have cleared all payday loans I had and was just looking for advice to see if I could, I dont see all the people on the banking reclaiming section get the responses I have just had here.
Just wondered if anyone had tried, not long started to fully use the forums but by posting and getting my head bitten on straight away dont think ill bother using again!0 -

.......... Got to be worth a try.
Yeah, got to be, hasn't it. Worth bunging a solicitor a couple of hundred quid in the first instance to have a look at your case.0 -
Alot of bashing there from a few people claiming resopnsibility this and that however as the OP has stated did you guys say the same thing to the people who were claiming bank charges etc. I am pretty sure the banks terms and conditions stated the charges for being overdrawn or bouncing direct debits yet this site was encouraging everyone to claim, setting up letter templates etc etc. so what is different to trying the same thing with Pay day lenders?0

Hats of to you, wish I was brave enough to say this or get it across as easily! so thank you ! :T
On another note, OP take note you don't need a solicitor - you can issue claim online via moneyclaimonline (it has a starting cost of £25 to bring a claim under £300) so if your prepared to pay/lose/win this might be the way, all depends how strongly you feel
Good luck!0
