Giblet - Equifax have done it! My file is all ship shape and looking beautiful. What a total relief. I will be speaking to the mortgage broker soon about the mortgage so I will let you know how I get on.

Nice one vicki, told you not to panic! The ones due to drop on 30/31 Jan dropped off my Equifax file last night - today is officially six years since my IVA was started and glad it's all behind me.

    So state of play is:

Callcredit - all clear, court info and all defaults gone
Equifax - court info went last week - just todays defaults which should clear in next week or so
Experian - five defaults plus court info which all expire today so should be gone tomorrow (previous defaults have dropped next day)

Going to try the Nationwide soft search when Experian clears just to see if I can go mainstream yet..

    Excellent.

As I said previously, Equifax normally lag with taking things off by a week or 2 so this might have happened now anyway.

At least it is gone, whatever the reason. :)

    Good luck with your applications.

So, all of my defaults dropped off Experian this morning. But, the IVA did not, even though it's six years old. I rang them and was told I have to send evidence of the IVA ending otherwise it'll stay there forever.

I didn't have to do this with Equifax or Callcredit!

    Ho hum - more delays...

  • Hi Giblet. On Experian what date does it have in for the end of your IVA? Mine says 00/00/00. When I finished my IVA I sent a copy of the certificate of completion to all 3 agencies. I checked my Experian report again yesterday and the IVA has reappeared! Not quite sure why but I have emailed them to tell them to remove it. I hope they don't tell me I need to send evidence in again (wasting more time). Now the only credit reference agency I havent had to fanny on with is Call Credit. I tell you what though, how great is it when you see your Equifax report with all that green on??? Lets just say I have learn't a very valuable lesson here.
  • Morning Vicki, there is no end date on it - unlike the other two CRAs I couldn't see a field for it otherwise it might have prompted me into action. I'm only a bit miffed because I could have sent them all this information last year in advance of the six year anniversary.

Anyway, I've emailed the completion certificate to them and he said it'll be up to ten working days to resolve.

What amazes me about these CRAs is just what exactly they can get away with - it's been a real eye opener for me. Here they are, peddling factual errors about peoples finances (so hugely important) and yet despite laws existing to protect data, when you contact the CRAs they just shrug their shoulders and say 'speak to creditors...' blah blah blah. Taking your example, why on earth would your IVA be legally allowed to reappear on your file? You could have been applying for a mortgage on the same day this happened and they'd have just walked away saying well it'll be corrected in time etc etc and the law doesn't hold them to account..

    Anyway, enough ranting!

  • ...but yes, the Greens are nice! It's been well over ten years since I last had a clean credit file..!

    Hi All,

Not sure if your aware, but EQ managed to upload a lot of 'old' IVA data on the 10th Feb. My IVA was completed last year, and did the 6 year drop off this January. I even managed mainstream credit after cleaning up all the files, but, hey presto, last Friday the cout data 're-appeared'.
After a few 'heated' calls with them they have now told me that they have a 'computer issue' and cannot give a timeframe for rectification.

    ARRGGHHHHH !!!

Yikes, thanks for the update. I checked EQ earlier and my last default dropped off so all green - hope the court data doesn't reappear on mine - it's the first time in well over a decade that my file is all green!

That said, I found EQ to deliver, albeit slowly, on their promises so it should get sorted..

    Experian on the other hand...

PS daryln, which mainstream credit did you get? I was thinking of the flybe card but read they're a bit trigger happy with CIFAS so not to keen on them...

  • I'm still waiting for Experian to remove the IVA from the Public Record Info. They sent me an automatic email when I submitted the dispute saying they aim to resolve disputes within 2 weeks. 2 weeks is up on Monday and I'm chomping at the bit. I know I should be patient (people keep telling me and they do have up to 28 days) but I can't! The house I am interested in buying is going to be released for sale imminently and I need to speak to the mortgage broker the second all 3 files are clear. I wouldn't mind but I sent Experian a copy of my completion cert a year ago. Surely it's just the click of a button for them!!!
