  • How interesting the different things you use to wash your brushes with?! Olive oil and dish soap? Shampoo? I'm sure I read something along the lines of "you wouldn't wash your face with shampoo, so why wash your brushes with it and then directly apply to your face?"... so I always use face wash. There are too many beauty myths out there! I guess it's all trial and error.

Well done on all the used ups everyone! LadyM - I'm jealous of all your bathroom space!!! Mine is soooo small that I'm trying my best to only keep (one bottle of each) shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body scrub, face wash and shaving foam. Only having one bottle out means that I'll actually use it up - rather than have six different face washes on the go at once!! However, it's also annoying when I think "oh, I could have used my hair mask if I wasn't already in the bath when it's in my bedroom!"

  • Two more INs for me (both replacing OUTs):

Superdrug Away With The Fairies Dry Shampoo - used this this morning and it seems pretty good, nice smell and doesn't flake too much.
Lush Breath of Fresh Air toner - replacing the bottle I finished over the weekend.

A very silly question, as I have a couple of open Foundations to use up and some more in my stash, I was wondering approx. how many applications should I get out of 30ml of foundation? Just trying to get an idea of how long it will take me to use all this stuff up.

I am just reading Bobbi Brown Living Beauty borrowed from local library. She recommends using baby soap or baby shampoo, apply to hand, lather, run brush over hand to pick up soap, then massage soap through bristles, rinse under clean running water, pat dry with towel, shape them as needed, then leave overhanging from work top to dry. HTH

That's exactly how I clean mine, except with my foundation brush it needs a couple of washes/rinses. I use conditioner, shampoo, face wash or shower gel though! It depends on which product I have enough of & I think will cleanse well!

Itzybitzy, that's not a silly question at all! Unfortunately, I never pay attention to how long a bottle lasts, so I can't answer I'm afraid.

Sunshineyday I'm love your INs! Be sure to post a pic when you've used (any of) them :)

I've still not finished my list. The question is, will I ever?? :rotfl::rotfl:

  • I have been known to wash my face with shampoo, it doesn't seem to do it any harm! I do it when I'm having a shower at somebody else's house and have forgotten to bring my face wash.

I think that most shampoos, shower gels and face washes are pretty much indistinguishable to be honest!

I wash my make up brushes in shampoo.

On a slightly different note, does anyone else 'stash' other items?? The thing is I'm kind of the only person I know to have a whole cupboard solely devoted to candles and I most definitely stash cleaning products too..... :o

I have an entire cupboard that is just detergent and fabric softner :o plus a storage tower full of candles, air fresheners, bleach, washing up liquid, tea bags (and now coffee :p) - all bought with vouchers fro free or practically free :D It's like having my own corner shop :rotfl:
Sarah*a - fab hamper -hope you aren't thinking of giving chocolate up for Lent!!

Not any more :rotfl::rotfl: I'm giving up bread I think :D

One IN: Avon Kids Apple Detangling Spray. I have to use a detangler and my last one is spluttering.

Have a good day all
