  • Finally finished a Bath&Body Works lotion. Citrus Basil or some combination of the name. The matching shower gel has about two showers left in it. When it's cold here, I go through lotion like there is no tommorrow. Think they've discontinued the line.

Now, I know a lot of you travel to the US for holidays. Word of Advice? Stay out of Bath&Body Works stores. They are always doing some sort of promotion "buy3, get 3" or spend $30 get $10 off your next purchase. And then they'll often throw in a free travel size something or other. Or the travel sizes will be on for something 3 for $2.

Honestly the stuff breeds under the sink!

So, now I'll start their Pink Grapefruit lotion, 'cause I've got matching gel somewhere.

I really liked the idea pages back about one fruity and one floral in rotation.

Oh, and Axe/Lynx? When my sons were in junior high school, the stuff was banned for two reason. It stinks and caused sneezing fits and the kids figured out how to make flame throwers out of it!

    Allura Nail Polish Remover, 400ml

Just mourning the death of one of my little fur babies (guinea pig), Twiggy
Died last night and my mum couldn't bring herself to tell me all day!

Very gutted. She wasn't even five :( - I hope my other one is ok! I wish i could have her through here!
I do feel for you. They often do seem to die for no reason that you can work out, I gather.
Our two guineas both died of old age at 6 and a half, they are the most adorable pets, aren't they? Mine were both 'house pigs'.
The first one we had was incredibly intelligent and very affectionate, the second only really developed a personality in the last two years of her life - but what a sweet and gentle personality it was.
    Hugs to you.

well Poppy and Twiggy were house pigs, and Whisky, the one we had for 8 years before was a house pig.......i couldnt bear to think of them in the cold!

Yeah Twiggy was always a runt and was absolutly tiny when we got her. She always had a runny nose and some sort of respiratory problem. Poppy was top pig LOL When i was back at Christmas (they were at my mum and dads), Twiggy was horribly thin....and i just think has declined since then....obviously some sort of internal thing that noone could see!. She certainly had the best personality out of the two,was always squeaking when the fridge door was opened and biting the cage for food!. Poppy on the other hand, well, she is a bit stupid haha.....but i love her! She will miss her little friend. She was annoyed by her, but needed her! Im more sad for her losing a companion.......:(

  • Got my Latest in Beauty 'You' box, so have some ins to report:

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish 30ml
    Sisley Global Anti Age Cream
    Bare Minerals Mineral Foundation
    Bamford Botanic Bath Oil
Bamford Geranium Body Wash x 2
Bamford Geranium Body Lotion x 2
Nick Lowe Oil Control Day Cream
    Natures Wonder Moisteriser 1g x 2

I must say I'm quite impressed with this box, especially as they seem to have doubled up on a few things (although not the Sisley Cream sadly :D ) Did this happen to other posters or did I get a 'lucky' box??

you were lucky!!!I only got 1 of each:(still decideing when to use the sisley as never had such an expensive cream before tho does make me think of the emporers new clothes!!!same as creme de la mer ....would not like to be an SA on that counter as sure I would die of boredom:rotfl::rotfl:

as I have already overspent big time this (FRUGAL :rotfl:) Feb I am thinking of going to Debs as Clinique bonus time and I do need a couple of items!

the afternoon tea was a bit odd,you had to book in advance (it was a groupon) and when we got there we were the only people in a room round the corner from the bar.the tea, cakes, scones and sandwiches arrived ok and were reasonable(tho the tea was in huge coffee cups which was a bit odd)but then thye ignored us even tho there were several (young sorry to be ageist!)staff members around. We had already decidedc we did not fancy the wine but would ask for more tea with the muffins,DH went to the bar and they did agree and bring us tea but no sign of the muffins(would have taken them home anyway as stuffed!!!)the deal was "worth" £30:eek:tho I would not have paid that,I got it for £12 but as groupon had given me a "gift " it only cost £7.We have had a few of these deals and TBH am beginning to wonder if they are worth it as the ones we had were not great even if they were cheap...tho the taster meal at £40 was not exactly a bargain!

on another note,is it just me or does the site jump about when you first get on the page?I know it has been changed again(if it ain't broke why fix it???)

Sorry about the guinea pigs Itzybitzy :(.
Rosemary, I've often looked at these groupon things and just don't bother. They always seem very expensive for what they are. Besides which, if you don't need it, then you're not saving money! That's what I keep trying to tell myself.
Back to work tonight after my week off. Really tired now as I didn't sleep well last night (was so cold!) so I'm planning on going back to bed for a while later on!

yes the ones I did were a half price concert at a hall we often go to,it was good BUT the so called half price top tickets were actually up in the Gods where we would not have normally gone,i had a fish pedicure which was very good and probably the best I have used,a hotel stay which we found out other people were getting abetter deal on:mad: and a taster meal which cost £40 for the two instead of £100 and was no way worth £100!!!(or even the £40!) I now have one to use for a punt trip on the Cam by the end of march down from £22 to £3 as i again had a groupon credit so cannot complain just hope for warm weather:rotfl::rotfl:

back on toletries am going to town and will try to get a make under(as they call it) at bare minerals and maybe a bigger sample than the one in the You box plus see if the laura mercier sample that was due in last year has finally arrived:rotfl:
  • Semi-successful weekend - two OUTs and one IN:

    OUTs
Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume - possibly WBA but only on offer and if there weren't any others available. Not sure if it was the volumising effect of it but it definitely felt 'heavier' and thicker than previous Batiste dry shampoos I've used. Not sure what's next, I'll check out Boots and Superdrug after work I think.
Lush Breath of Fresh Air toner - WBA as it worked well at getting rid of the last traces of cleanser and make-up, although it is quite expensive. I'll pick up a new bottle later I think.

    IN:
Original Source Almond & Black Cherry Shower Gel - picked this up as we were away this weekend and I only realised I'd forgotten my shower gel when we were at the train station! It smells lovely though, like Bakewell tarts, and lathers up really nicely.
