13A oven

Hi,
I'm desperately looking for a 13A oven as my kitchen does not have a higher rater cooker spur. It only needs to be a single oven (not built in) and doesn't need any hobs either but it must run off a normal 13A socket.
I've heard that these exist but can't find any with my google-fu? Anyone got cheap recommendations? The tiny mini-ovens would be too small I think....

Try "worktop oven" or "mini oven" - or are you after full size? My oven is wired via 13 amp fused spur off the ring main, but that's built in/integrated.0

I have a built-in cooker at home with 6 gas burners on the hob and an extra-wide electric over underneath. However, the oven itself just runs from a 13A plug. in fact, I think all the electric ovens I've had have used 13A plugs - it's the hob rather than the oven that needs a lot of power.
However, I don't think I've ever seen exactly what you are looking for on sale - a freestanding full size electric oven without a hob. I guess you could always get a dual fuel cooker and not connect the gas hob to anything, but it's not ideal...Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
Most standard "built-in" ovens can be run off a 13a circuit , its only when you have an electric hob included that the circuit needs to be sized for larger current0

I got mine from Dixons, it just fits in a gap under my worktop and plugs into a socket
Proper oven and grill with a clock and a timer on it.
I shopped around and found that Dixons, even though they are sister company to Currys were £40 cheaper.
I dont have a hob at all.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
If you've got the space, you could pick up a single oven unit, then fit a single oven into it.
£30 ishy for the oven unit.0 -

I really need to be able to make a couple of pizzas at a time or a roast with yorkshires...However, I don't think I've ever seen exactly what you are looking for on sale - a freestanding full size electric oven without a hob. Could I not just use the built-in !!! a free standing? I don't really care if it's ugly as long as I can cook properly.I got mine from Dixons, it just fits in a gap under my worktop and plugs into a socketAlias_Omega wrote: »If you've got the space, you could pick up a single oven unit, then fit a single oven into it.

Got links/model numbers?0 -
A link, not really.
If the space is 600mm wide or more, you can travel to B&Q and pick up a fitted kitchen self assembly single oven unit. The electric oven will just slide into this. You can pick up an off-cut of worktop to put across the top and your away. You will be able to plug it in wherever you like in the house, and move it about (with a little hard work).
I found a pretty cheap oven which was ex-display from B&Q. There were loads on offer, so we picked the best of the lot.0 -
where do you live?
ive got some new BQ worktop offcuts here, you can have one of em for nowt.Get some gorm.0 -
Oven housing: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00102372/?query=001.023.72 £22
Legs: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20049538/#/20054563 £6
Worktop: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00124086/ (you actually only need half of it) £20
Oven: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40166791/ £112
Filler for under oven: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10129540/?query=101.295.40 £3
Total: £163
Add £18 if you want the drawer mechanism to go under the oven. However if you're not attaching to the wall, you'd probably want to put a couple of bricks in the space under the door to help weigh it down so it doesn't tip over when you open the door and spill the roast dinner all over you...0 -

Almost right but not enough detail;
A single oven rated at less than 3kW MAY, if it comes fitted with one, use a 13A plug, otherwise you must follow the manufacturer's instructions as regarding wiring up and provide a suitable dedicated supply if necessary.
A double oven is generally rated at >3kW and will almost certainly require hard-wiring via a suitably rated isolation switch, using a suitably rated cable and protected by a suitably sized protection device back at the Consumer Unit.
An all-electric cooker (oven and ELECTRIC hob), see above for double oven.0
