if im totally honest i dont agree with CTC either. i truly believe if you have kids you should self finance them not let the state do it.
no school meals, no childcare help, no CTC, totally up to the parents to provide apart from the old family allowance like how it used to be.0 -

so what happens to those people working 40 hours a week on minimum wage who can barely keep a roof over their heads. Are they are not allowed to have children?0 -

work 70-80 hours instead, that's what my dad did and many others like him.Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.

Both my older children attend a breakfast club while I take my youngest son to a different school. Its £3.50 a day each so its not cheap, but its convenient and works for us.
I agree that there are many people who feel its 'their' CTC, not understanding or caring for its true purpose.Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0 -
How can this benefit come under the benefits cap what about free prescriptions and free eye tests and glasses one person needs more pills than another these are not a payment that the person gets so it cant be caped.0

clearing out, yes i suppose put bluntly that is exactly what i mean.
before having children more thought as to how they will be afforded should be given.
i think its ludicrous that crippled with debt as the country is the government are giving handouts to working people to make life more comfortable for them.
i know a few people who wont take on more/ better paid jobs because they can work for minimum wage in a nice stressless job and top up on tax credits. they are far too easily given out when the country cannot afford.0 -
i haven't heard anything either way, but they should be. what's the point in having a cap if things sneak in under it.
I don't have a propblem with this, as long as it's not a cash benefit that will get spent on lambert & butlers. If the parents are that useless to really need it, I'd rather pay for it than see their kids starve. Unfed kids have very little chance off becoming productive citizens.0 -

unfed kids are the product of bad parents. bad parents aren't necessarily on benefits.Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.

I'd love to know the socio-economic breakdown of kids that are on the At Risk register, it's not the kind of statistic that seems to be kept or published.
I'm not saying that child abuse doesn't take place in affluent households, btw.0
