I have just returned 2 tickets for Sunshine on Leith for Chester cineworld for today @ 11am. Hope someone can make use of them.:)0

I have two unused childrens cineworld codes to be used by 30/9 - if anyone would like them I will gladly pm the codes . You do have to input your card details but nothing will be charged to you as the total after promotional codes will show nil.
perhaps a trip after school tomorrow? or if your kids have an inset day.0 -
One of the many who turned up for the Sunday screening of 'Sunshine on Leith' to be turned away as far more tickets given out than seats in the cinema.
Poor customer service, refused to pay wasted rail fares. No alternative screening being provided.
Thought with the ticket allocation system on showfilmfirst that the correct number of tickets would be allocated.0 -
I went to see Sunshine on Leith in Shaftsbury Ave. It was nearly full I was luck to find a seat
I enjoyed the film very much, agreeing with the reviewer on IMDB that it looked like everyone of the cast was enjoying them selves which made the film feel enjoyable....
a must see film....0 -
At the cinema I went to for Sunshine on Leith, there were lots of empty places, no doubt because on the day, there was not just sunshine on Leith, but sunshine on the Wirral! :-)
But it's a pity that so many people book the tickets and then don't go, when other people would dearly like to go.
Sunshine on Leith was excellent, far more than just the 'feel-good movie' that the trailer makes it out to be. I went expecting an Hibernian version of Mamma Mia. Wrong! From the opening scene full of perspiring squaddies full of fear in an armoured vehicle heading towards (won't spoil it for you!), it was apparent that the cast had not left classy acting performances behind, in lieu of singing and dancing.
All 6 of the lead actors were superb, but special mention to Peter Mullen and Jane Horrocks for putting their heart and soul into performances as 'the parents' that otherwise might have just been a straight run-through on auto pilot.
It was funny, sad, poignant, irreverent and thought-provoking, as well as feel-good.
Really, really recommend it and it makes you want to go and visit Edinburgh and discover some of our joint 'Great British' heritage.0 -

From the T&C,
"Tickets are supplied on a first come, first served basis. Whilst all efforts are made to ensure tickets are allocated to capacity, in the event that there is overbooking, for whatever reason, any alternative ticket allocation is entirely at the discretion of ShowFilmFirst or the cinema manager. No guaranteed compensation is offered. "0 -
Although my ticket stated a 11am start for Sunshine on Leith the Dundee Cineworld began the film early, I got there at 10.35 and it had already started, loads of others turning up missed anywhere up to a half hour of the film.
Once all the hustle and bustle of everyone trying to find seats etc it was a very enjoyable film.
Very emotional and thought provoking - I welled up at a few scenes but then maybe thats me getting soft in my old age!0 -
^ Sunshine on Leith started at 10.30 in Edinburgh too but someone went out and must have informed them it was supposed to be 11am, so they stopped the film and restarted it from the beginning. The place was full - we were in screen 13 which has fewer seats than the others (but very nice - lots of leg room).
I agree with the above reviews - really enjoyed the film - but have now got the songs stuck in my head... :whistle:0 -
Has anyone else received about half a dozen email alerts from the code thread this afternoon/evening ?
Everytime I get to the code thread there is no posts....
Are they all being quickly deleted, or is the alert system playing up ?
Thanks0 -

I had an alert stating that LouLou had posted a short while ago and from what I can see that member is on that page. Possibly they self censored themselves.0
