A link would be nice, and a list of all the venues it's being played at.
Absolutely gobsmacked by this breathtaking rudeness. Yes, as regularly debated, a list of venues is always nice, but the link was there if you looked (maybe not clickable, but are you really too lazy to copy and paste???), and a "please" wouldn't go amiss!!

Also newbjohny, for future reference, this is the place for questions and discussion.

I was going to comment on this earlier today but decided against it as I usually receive the backlash from commenting on things like this :p Glad I wasn't the only one who thought this was incredibly rude and lazy, and annoying that it was posted on the codes only thread.

I saw his post also and when I looked at the one being referred to I noticed it had been edited. So there wasn't a link at the time he posted his request.
Apart from that, the post was chat and didn't belong in the codes only thread.

    Starring JUDI DENCH, STEVE COOGAN

Philomena is the true story of one mother’s search for her lost son. Falling pregnant as a teenager in Ireland in 1952, Philomena was sent to the convent of Roscrea to be looked after as a "fallen woman". When her baby was only a toddler, he was taken away by the nuns for adoption in America. Philomena spent the next fifty years searching for him in vain. Then she met Martin Sixsmith, a world-weary political journalist who happened to be intrigued by her story. Together they set off for America on a journey that would not only reveal the extraordinary story of Philomena’s son, but also create an unexpectedly close bond between them. The film is a compelling narrative of human love and loss and ultimately celebrates life. It is both funny and sad and concerns two very different people, at different stages of their lives, who help each other and show that there is laughter even in the darkest places. The book "The Lost Child Of Philomena Lee" was published in 2009. It acted as a catalyst for thousands of adopted Irish children and their 'shamed' mothers to come forward to tell their stories. Many are still searching for their lost families.

Update on timings for Captain Phillips Preview

    Doors open at 6.45pm

From 7pm there will be on screen coverage of the excitement, glamour and interviews from the red carpet at London’s Odeon Leicester Square will be beamed into Cineworld cinemas around the country from 7:00pm (Doors Open at 6:45pm) followed by preview of the film.

    7.30pm: Film starts

Has anyone been to a showing of a film which has had a red carpet presentation beforehand? Did many people turn up to see it?

I'm tempted to arrive just before 7.30 as I don't fancy spending over 3 hours in a cinema seat but don't want to not a get a seat.

It really does depend on the film and the size of the screenroom.

I've been to several and they have always filled up early on. Latecomers if admitted, run the risk of getting really bad seats which are usually the front row with your nose pinned up against the screen.

Personally, I never leave it until seconds before the film is due to start even when it's an ordinary film. I'm funny about where I sit for one thing lol

    Just back from CAPTAIN PHILLIPS

    Very very good.
Excellent performance by Tom Hanks and the first time Somali actors
Gripping true story that could easily have been a fictional plot.
Highly recommended, well worth seeing it on the big screen with the high volume sound track emphasising the drama

    Thanks for the reply.

Decided to leave it late and arrived about 7.15 for a 7.30 start and it was about 80 percent full with only the front three rows free.

Agree with silicon_chip and quoia. Captain Phillips is well worth a viewing.
