That seems harsh. What a pain for you:mad: On both of the free screenings i've been too (both cineworld) people have come in a bit late which tbh is a pain in the neck. However, it appears that you weren't if the film started at 7.0

Sounds like it was Showcase, they start at 7pm. We had screenings there last night as well as Odeon (Liverpool)0 -
Ah, just read again. if it was full it was full. That's why they suggest getting there thirty minutes before. I thought you were saying that they had seats available but that they wouldn't let you in because you came ten minutes before start time.
Still frustrating though i guess.0 -

It might be harsh but if the room is full just what do you suggest they do?
In this case I take it staff mean later than those who arrived at least 30 mins before film is due to start.0 -
Tbh, most times at Norwich you can get there about 6.15 and still be alright, if like with us hubby works, so gets home as quick as possible so we can go staright out, it's not always possible to be there earlier so occasionally we have been told sorry full!
Our local odeon usually offers to let us see another film if this happens! On the one occasion we weren't offered another film we emailed SSF with how dissapointed we were to be turned away as the showing was full and they sent us a pair of complimentry tickets. But there is no obligation for this to happen as the tickets are first come first served!"Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138

I saw TMW last night.
I had not been expecting too much from the trailers I had seen (at other previews), so was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it.
Light-weight piece of fluff, but enjoyable non the less.
I liked TMW as well, at the beginning I thought It might be too over the top for me, but in the end I quite enjoyed it!0 -

Had to drive all the way home
I have had tickets to Preview screenings at 3 different cinemas, most start at 6.30, but some at 7pm - so it pays to double check.
But, at the Odeon cinema, we are always put in the smallest screen - 100 seats.
At the other cinemas the screenings are usually in the largest screens - over 400 seats.
In the past when we have been told they were full (at the Odeon) I complained to Disney who said the Cinema management had moved the screening to a smaller screen at the last moment without informing Disney...... who presumably had paid for the bigger screen !
Only reason I complained was this was a Sunday morning, so had set alarm and got there 25 minutes before the start - and there were so many other families being told similar "we're full" story. Clearly something was not right!
Of course the advice is get there early - but that is not always possible if you are working and have a distance to travel.
Better luck next time bowlesbargain0 -
I'm in Norwich too! I was surprised we were in one of the bigger screens last night. I thought TMW was ok but not great.
I've been getting there just before 6 recently because the free screenings seem to have got busier. I'm a bit of a worrier though and like to be in my seat nice and early! I'm usually standing in the queue, checking my watch and waiting for my other half who works in Stowmarket!Queenriderbrekke wrote: »Tbh, most times at Norwich you can get there about 6.15 and still be alright, if like with us hubby works, so gets home as quick as possible so we can go staright out, it's not always possible to be there earlier so occasionally we have been told sorry full!
