24, so no problem there, I just have to remember not to get a job as a film critic because my opinions of films so often differ from either the paper critic's (Sometimes wonder if they ever saw the film, especially for the critic talking about the Oscar's who called The Artist an arty farty type film and indicated that nobody would want to see a silent movie in this day and age! I saw it twice and loved it and I am as ordinary as they come!) and the opinions of others on the board, lol!

I am so looking forward to seeing Hanna again (Coming up next week on Sky Premier) Saoirse Ronan is a great little actress!

I'm on to my 4th preview of This Means War tonight and whilst it isn't going to win BP Oscar next year, it is a fun film. Critics and bloggers decided to hate this film en masse even before seeing it which galls.

I had a man sitting next to me last Thursday who along with his male friend, laughed throughout and seemed to be enjoying the film who at the end turned to his friend and said it was crap! If that's the case what the hell was he laughing at??:(

Another film that male critics want to hate again before some even saw it, is ELAIC. I have no problems when people watch a film then hate/dislike it but if it is your job or hobby then at least give a film a fair chance or else why should anyone take notice of what you have to write if the critique isn't an honest opinion of the film.

One of the main reasons I don't bother to read crits, reviews and blogs before a film and very few after I see a film. A review is just another person's opinion, I am quite capable of making up my own mind and a review will never put me off from seeing a film either.
  • Quite agree with you about critics opinions i usually like to judge a film myself not on what a critic has said, i have a friend that always reads every critics opinion but rarely ever goes to see a film not every film is going to be a masterpiece
  • The critic in the Sun Alec Zane only gave Marrigold Hotel 3/5, thought it was worth more than 3/5, lovely British Film!

  • Is anyone having trouble getting the Titanic 3D tickets for Bristol. I had tickets before on 14th feb but the preview was cancelled. Does anyone have a direct link to get onto the booking system?

    Thanks

Never read critics reviews, but having seen ELAIC now, can understand why it got a pasting!
just a suggestion but perhaps the reason why the guy was laughing At This means war, was because he thought the film was ludicrous, rather than funny. My friend and i certainly did. We laughed on occasion, but not because we enjoyed the film, because we thought it was so utterly lame.;)

As far as I can see, with one you have to be a Sky Movies subscriber, the other a TimesPlus subscriber. Are you subscribed to either?
  • Thanks for your reply. I am not a timesplus member but they gave tickets away before to non-members which is how i got them. I received an apologetic email from timesplus after the cancelled preview saying they would reschedule it. Seems odd that they arent just re-issuing tickets to those that had them before. So you dont think they are giving only to members now?

They only issue to non subscribers if they have a surplus left over. It isn't guaranteed I'm afraid. If you still have the original link you used, I would keep trying it just in case it goes live. Fingers crossed for you.
  • I have just gone onto my original email confirmation from them and went to preview the previous ticket and the date has automatically changed to 8th March so thats brilliant :)

Thanks so much for your replies Poochface.
