  • Nope no dishes at all , to be honest I don't really know why !!! There about 40 flats and no one has a dish people move in and as clockwork up goes the dish and then a few days later it's being taken down !!!!. It's in my leasehold that no dishes . Its pain as there is no cable either in my close so stuck Have decided to get a free view plus box for £90 direct from humax and then turn off the pay tv from talk talk and my son will have to suffer without cartoon network and actually watch the pile of DVDs he has ... Prob will call his dad and claim I'm depriving him lol ......
  • Strange restriction. It might be worth finding out who owns the freehold and whether they actually want to enforce this clause which was not uncommon 20 years ago but is (I think) fairly unusual these days. It could just be that the management company do this automatically. If you own a share of the freehold find out when there's a meeting and bring it up.

Your kid will get over it.

The Sunday Times is no better than the Daily Mail - even their magazine (which used to be really good) is bursting with garbage more often than not.

There's often this clause on a leasehold block-but these days there's usually a communal system as a solution.
Can't you tell your son that for as long as you're unemployed you can't afford subscription TV?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I would either bolt one of these antennae on the wall, as its obviously NOT a dish and meets the no dish requirement, or use a hidden dish - google will give you the idea.
At times any combination of my spelling, grammar or punctuation may be incorrect. Please do not pick me up for this as, after all, it is only an internet forum.

Looks like you are a potential customer for Sky's new internet TV streaming service.

That gum you like is coming back in style.

We are also not allowed individual dishes in our development (or antennae), as Macman said, it's a fairly standard clause and we do have a communal system.
Now free from the incompetence of vodafail
  • I moved into a leasehold flat 18 months ago and the lease says that no dishes are allowed without permission. I did write to ask for permission for that and for a pet, but got no response. Almost all the other flats have their own dishes so when Sky offered my half price TV for a year I took them up on it. I've still got it, and my two cats. :)

Hopefully they never object. There is no communal satellite system and until only very recently the Virgin Media they said was installed in all properties was not connected.
  • Watch Cartoon network on your pc, better still cancel your sky and use YouTube or CN website to watch them.

iPlayer has Nickelodeon, you can access it via a games console if that any help?

    :)
Failure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.
If its important to you, you'll find a way - if not, you'll find an excuse ! ~ Easy to say when you take money out of the equation!
