I live on a private estate and we are not allowed dishes , I previously had bt vision ( rubbish ) and then moved onto talk talk ( not much improvement ).
Have recently found myself unemployed and have gone through my bills with a fine tooth comb and realised £25 of my £45 bill is for tv charges ( don't even have movies !!) as I am now out of contract they have said I can have phone& broadband for £15 a month but no tv , I'm quite happy with freeview but my 8 year old might be a bit peeved at losing cartoon network !!! Apart from going back to bt vision or getting a free view box is that it ? Can't have virgin no cable in the close
Any ideas

My son has freesat and his dish is in the back garden on a post just clear of the ground.
As long as it has line of site to the area of sky that the satellite is positioned, no problem.
If you want help to set it up have a look at this.

Your human rights are being breached according to the EU!

If that fails then just disguise the dish like this

Well, any reference to a daily mail article should not be taken as gospel.
Maybe the OP is in a listed property which often have restrictions on what you can do to them satellite dishes being one.0 -

Wow journalistic snobbery!
How about the Sunday Times then? It's front page story on 7/8/11 but you will need a subscription to read their web pages, something I assume all discerning readers will have.0 -

Note that it is a case of 'COULD' breach and not will breach. To me that says that every single installation would need to be tested in a court of law to establish whether it is or not. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Can you have a dish in the Garden or on a fence,wall.shed. ?
check http://www.dishpointer.com/ for where to put a dish
put your postcode in and select astra2 28.2e as the satellite
Drag the green symbol to your property and see where the
green line has a clear line of sight without obstructions
from walls trees houses etc that's where you could have a dish
at ground level.if you find an area/location have a look from there
yourself can the dish point to the sky without anything in the way
i have a dish its only 3ft high by a fence it does a great job

Even after putting up a portable dish, you are not going to be able to get the Cartoon Network without a subscription to Sky or Virgin etc.
Is it really that much of a loss, sure he/she will soon forget about it there are plenty of other free to air children's channels.0
