Parking Fines - help and advice please!!

I find it shocking that all the posters on here feel that it's ok for someone to park in a pay and display car park, not pay, and there be no penalty or redress for the company concerned.
I have read the entire thread again and nobody endorses not paying a P&D fee which would be reasonable charge, what I find shocking is the presumption by you that anyone is saying to avoid paying, can I suggest you actually read the comments by the posters on here instead of presuming and having go at people offering advice.
And can I also tell you that ALL private parking invoices are unfair and a penalty, the majority of courts agree, that is why so few cases go the small claim route, they get crucified there and it costs them hugely, the letters and their websites basically lie, they never do court 99.99% of the time.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. It is believed by some that there were good grounds for appeal as Parking Eye never made any attempt to claim for their actual losses or offered the person concerned the opportunity to pay their actual losses.
Would have been the quickest appeal in the court.
You can not claim for what you have not asked !

There's a shopping centre near where I live which has a carpark that's free for the first two hours then there's a charge after that. To get into the carpark you pass through a barrier which issues a ticket. To get out of the carpark you take your ticket to a machine to be validated and if you've stayed more than two hours you pay the correct fee. As a result everybody who used the carpark pays the correct fee, no-one can avoid paying and there's no need for a bunch of scammers to threaten motorists for large sums of cash. This system may not be appropriate for all circumtances, it's probably too slow for very busy carparks and would probably cause queues, but where it can be used it's a far more efficient system than anything Parking Lie, et al could offer.
The system described above is clear proof that car parks can be operated in a fair way with customers being given a proper opportunity to pay the correct fee at the time. But the scammers don't want to operate in this way because it will seriously impact on their profits."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

As Trebor16 has said, that's a model that would work in that it provides a sensible, fair, service. But we know that's not what it's about - it's about maximising profits. They don't want to pay car park attendants, when they can just sting people vor £70 via CCTV. P&D in general is a poor system, as you need to know how long you're going to be. What's wrong with a pay-on-exit system, where you pay for what you use?0 -
The problem with pay on exit car parks is that it means it makes ppcs obslete, and there is no way they will go for that model. I remember my local Safeway having someone on a barrier, you showed your receipt and you got out for free , no receipt and you paid a pound. It was a good idea that went when morrisons took over.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. hi i recently got a pcn whilst visiting a friend on xmas eve who lives in 1 of those gated appartment things. iv always parked in the visitors bay and never had any problems b4. however iv had a charge thru the post stating that even tho i was in the visitor bay i needed a visitor permit 2! summut iv never been told b4 or seen any signs 4!!! on advice i ignoreed the letter but have now recieved another upping the penalty to £75. i would ignore this 1 2 but iv just read that new generation parking have now got their own bailiffs not just debt collectors so they have every right to recover their debt! also if i deny being the driver in court i have 2 tell the judge who reli was driving and i could end up paying hundreds of pounds and loosing my car!!!!!!!!!!! im currently unemeployed and reli cant afford £75 but maybe i shud just pay?0

There is no such thing as "own bailiffs". They are just powerless debt collectors with a fancy name. Proper bailiffs are "officers of the court". They only come onto the scene if the case goes to court (very unlikely), you lose (very, very unlikely) and then you don't pay whatever the judge orders within 28 days. You are not obliged to tell the judge who was driving and it's not a "penalty", it's an unenforceable invoice.
Finally, could you refrain from using "text speak" as it makes it very difficult for us to read your post. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

Don't be daft! Only a Court can appoint bailiffs. Where did you read that rubbish?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

there was a post on another forum which also had a link to a article in which a private parking company took a lady to court and won. she was ordered by the judge to pay £300 plus costs because he said 'a parking ticket is still a parking ticket no matter who issues it'
i have no problem ignoring these letters but as i live at home my mum is panicking about bailiffs and i dont want my mum suffering because of me. from all the advice i herd a win in court for these companies is highly unlikely but if i get a jugde like that poor woman im screwed!0
