Thanks for that Jarus, I got all excited as mine have H*lls but only the Hairball variety which isn't included in the offer. I've been buying online for a while now and have never had difficulty with the product arriving. For your future reference, I buy online and use quidco for the cashback BUT I have bought from Z**plus twice and am still awaiting the cashback from August the first order! By contrast, I bought another couple of bags last month from P*tMeds through Quidco and I've already recieved the cashback in my bank account! :T It's worth checking out the various companies to be honest. ;)

Sorry you got excited for nothing, but thanks for all the other information I will definitely have a look. xx

OMG - went to page 1 one of this thread to get the weetabix cake recipe and was side tracked by the weetabix brownies. I have had an open packet of weetabix in the back of the cupboard with 7 left (must have been from rellies staying since I dont eat them). Well - have just taken the brownies out of the oven and, if they taste as good as they smell, they will be a defo hit - mmmmmm. May have to use this as excuse to buy in more weetabix me thinks!!

Huge thanks to Jaxxy00 for donating the recipe.

I discovered the Weetabix cake thread last week and have already made 2!! They are a real hit even with DH who doesn't normally eat cake. I also discovered a couple of other weetabix recipes one for flapjacks and one for chocolate fudge weetabix biscuits

I made one of our favourites yesterday- Apple and Stilton Soup with apples from the fruit bowl that were needing used and stilton left over from Christmas. We had it yesterday and there is enough for tea tomorrow evening

  • Hi

Could you put me down for £150 for Feb please.

Also £1800 for the year please

I am new to this and am not sure how much I can manage on each month. There is only me and my cat but I do tend to be extravagant so this will be a huge challenge.

I want to try to pay off some of my debts so I really need to start cutting down on my spending. First thing has been to take my credit cards out of my purse.

Thank you and good luck everyone :)

  • Hi everyone I am so not doing very well with my Budget at all :( I had spent all of this weeks Budget upto Thursday however me and Hubby had a huge fight so bless him he thought to make it better he would go and look for YS meat as I had said we need some. So in the snow and the ice after a half hour bike ride almost home he went to our local sainsburys and got a HUGE bit of beef was £17 he got it for £8 and i am thinking I can make a Roast dinner out of it and then I can make some dinners next week and then he got a gammon for £4 I have wanted gammon for ages I can make Gammon and coke now :) and he also got some Lamb stakes bless him I feel so bad cos omg did I yell at him he I found out he had blown the budget. And then I have had to order Nappys for my Son he is having a few issues and is not potty trained at 3 and he is a big boy so I have had to get them from Tena Lady. Which means my budget for the week is Blown however my budet for the month is still on track how do I log this on my sig as I have already taken £35 out of next weeks budget leaving me £15 for the week do I have got lots of meat and then £35 for the week after.

Hope everyone is doing well and is on Budget.

You could show the figures as week number or week commencing - so either

    wk1 : 48/50, wk2 : 35/50, wk3 : 35/50

or (assuming your week starts on a Monday for the sake of a date to use)

    w/c 6th : 48/50, w/c 13th : 35/50, w/c 20th : 35/50

personally I feel the latter would make it read more sensibly when you've completed and declared each week

    Hi all

Wow, the minestrone soup recipe seems to be going down well!!! Glad you all seem to be trying it, personally I think it's great! And if it lacks flavour, stick in another cube, or even better, more pesto! (I try and be frugal on the pesto because I'm tight!) I'd be interested to hear how you all got on making it?

Completed Week 1 yesterday with £1.49 on honey. This leaves a 62p surplus for Week 1 budget which is good. Will keep in budget pot for now and plan to put all surplus in the "no touchy" pots at the end of the month. Having rejigged stuff a bit, I'm currently expecting to come in around £8 under budget.

Also did first Week 2 spend yesterday, of £1.78 for 2x 2pts milk. It is a few pennies more to buy it like this, however I don't use enough to get through a 4 pinter before it goes manky, and I only have a little freezer shelf so no room to freeze. Was going to get bananas yesterday but they were not very good in Mr T by work, a big Extra one, so will probably buy them with my main Week 2 shop which I'll do Wed or Thu in the small one by me.

Have been signed off for a week starting today (severe depression since September, tablets increased too - now on max dose), which I have mixed feelings about, but it does mean I can relax a bit, which is why I got signed off work, and so I don't need to be so rigid about which days will work out for shopping and cooking. Small mercies!

Was very naughty yesterday and bought a lovely 5 seeded granary bap with ham, cheese and mustard mayo from the sandwich lady for lunch. I took it from my pocket money rather than groceries, but it does mean I have my minestrone soup left for lunch today, and so I can rejig my meal plan for the month slightly.

I'm hoping to make some bread today if I feel like it. I don't have a bread maker so lots of kneading is required! However when I tried it for
the first time the other day, it went well. This is a different mix though, last time I had Tesco Crusty Wholemeal and this time I have Hovis Granary (2p cheaper! :rotfl: ). Also, last time I made rolls and pizza bases, whereas I'd like to try making a loaf with the Hovis mix. Watch this space!

    Sorry for long post...:o

Declaring today as a much needed NSD. I took fish from the freezer yesterday for dinner tonight, planning to roast it with olives, garlic and tomato, serve with green beans from freezer (grown last summer), and probably mash as I have lots of potatoes to use up.

Will be making flapjacks later on for this week's packed lunches. Feeling back in control again at last.

This feels like a tough month for many of us, for lots of reasons - roll on March!
    Debt free and saving :j
  • Spent £90 in sainsburys last weds
    £11 in morrisons on Friday
    £6 in Iceland on Friday
    £1.25 in tesco yesterday.

Planning on no spends until Friday. I have £15 in cash and I won't be taking anymore out. I will only need to but milk and fruit and will pay for that out of the cash I have
