    Hi everyone !

Thank you ladies for running the thread, you do a fab job xxxx

I'd like to stick to £300 for February please. That's for 6 of us (4 over 18s and 2 teenagers).

Half-term is looming but me and DH are going away and the kids are off to their nana's for a week. No food needs to be bought that week but I'm still keeping budget fairly high so I can stock up on any bargains that appear :D

  • Hi everyone,

I am new here and want to take part in this challenge. I live alone and have a TON of stuff in my freezer/pantry, so am trying not to spend much at all in February apart from necessary basics. I intend to spend just £20 a week (I usually spend between £35-£40), so £80 is my plan for February in total.

Helen please can you put me down for my usual £250 for February? Thank you

My month runs in line with the calendar month and I've got an order from Mr A being delivered on Wednesday so will post again once that's been delivered

    cheers

it is so nice to be able to say i have spent £0 so far!! last month was a complete disaster but i am more confident about Feb as there are less days and i have a good few things in the freezer. heading to the fruit and veg shop at lunch time to stock up on fruit and get some brocolli and salad stuff to accompany the 6 bags of bolognese in the freezer! it's tough doing the grocery challenge and trying to lose weight at the same time!

  • Hi guys! It's my first month here, DP and I really need to get a handle on our shopping budget! We are going to go for £320 for the month. This is a massive guess, so who knows what will happen!

Also, we are going to start with the 2nd purse as well, so will be putting £10 into that. Any tips on how you find the stuff you need on offer? Or is it just luck?? Also, does the £10 I put in the purse this month come out of my grocery budget??Thanks!

  • Hi everyone
I joined MSE way back but have only recently started checking out OS properly and I love it, particularly the Grocery Challenge! Having kept a keen eye on January's thread I would like to join in with Feb's challenge please (if that's ok?) - so could you put me down for £200? That is for me, my OH, his DD most weekends, and one dog. Thanks.
PS - Sorry, I don't know how to change the font size yet...
  • Hi everyone,

Thank you to everyone who keeps this thread going :T

I've made my start on my £400 budget big time already, but in my defence I had 4 of the £5 vouchers for M&S, so decided to us them up, I've now got enough meat in the freezer to last several months and wine to last a while too as we're trying to cut down on that :D
I've also done a veg/fruit shop in Mr S, so in total I've already spent £156.75
off to update sig in a bit, good luck to everyone :)

(Unfortunately there will be a spend later of milk from Mr T's but that should be it)

Ideally the £10 shouldn't be from your grocery budget, as you then use your grocery budget to buy the items from your stocks (so you'd effectively pay twice our of GC budget if you did)

Keep an eye open for offers at the supermarkets, and stock up on things you use regularly and/or have a really good price

There's actually a seperate challenge thread for the second purse now (here) which has had a lot of questions asked and answered since it was kicked off, so possibly worth you having a read of that :)
