Sorry been MIA past few days too - caught a horrible norovirus type of bug over weekend - only just got up today.
The thought of food _pale_ hasn't been first on my mind!
But still I sent my DD2 to local shop with strict instructions to buy some new antibacterial cleaner (running out),bread, milk and stupidly" anything else we need" and she managed to spend £12.08!
Great, we really needed those two packs of toffyP*Ps,two bars of chocolate, bottle of fizzy pop etc didn't we amongst the other "really needed stuff" Oh well.
Must be feeling a bit better though as I am actually drinking my first cup of tea since Sat.
Anyway I don't mind NOT being on list Helenjelly - you do such a great job and it must take aggessssss to sort us out and am now getting into swing of updating sig - like I am now (even though it will probably take me over budget, thank you ToffyP*P biccies):mad:Crazy Clothes Challenge 2012 £57.20/£100,CCC 2013 £68.67/£100 ,CCC 2014 £94.32/£100

Well done to everyone who has come under or even close to their targets! :j:j Very inspiring!
Cleggie - Big hug, SM's are just programmed to tempt us I think! I find distraction works best for me... Have you done a complete inventory of what you've got in? Bet you'd surprise youself with how much stuff you've got if you haven't checked for a while?
Quick question to everyone - I get through tons of tinned tomatoes and was wondering where the cheapest price for a tin (400g) was? Horrorsons have hiked theirs to 38p each and so have Tesco for their chopped ones. They do have whole plum ones at 31p a tin, so am going to do a massive stock-up on those before they also go up to 38p.
Before I order my own bodyweight in them though:rotfl:has anyone found them any cheaper anywhere else? Not bothered if they're chopped or whole tbh.
Heading across the bridge this weekend home to Wales, so will check out prices there too - any info greatfully received!
Thanks!
LTN
PS - Oh No! Just looked again at Mr T online and they've gone up to 39p for whole and 42p for chopped:eek::eek::eek:0 -
HOWEVER, I'm debating whether to do this tomorrow because there is a bowl of leftover bolognaise from Lasagne my flatmate cooked on Monday (which we had yesterday as well - there was too much mince mix for the pan). There is also salad from Monday in the fridge which needs using up. I was thinking of using some mini puff pastry tarts from the freezer (Jusrol from Christmas 2010, which is annoying me being there!!), topping with the bolognaise mix (and maybe a bit of goats cheese to melt on top from the fridge) and serving with the leftover salad. Do think that sounds okay? Or should I take the bolognaise to work tomorrow with a jacket for lunch? Would the bolognaise actually be okay tomorrow having said that?
If I DO then the pork meal will be done tomorrow instead.
I'm too tired today - can you tell I'm indecisive. :rotfl:
Well I've solved my 'dilemma' - my flatmate thinks that the puff pastry idea is rubbish so I won't be doing this! Should teach me to ask what we should have for dinner - my mum used to serve it up and say if we don't want it we can just go hungry. Maybe that's why I'm such a human gannet! :rotfl: I'm just going to bung the bolognaise in the freezer I think and have pork tonight.Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

I go through quite a lot of them too - they're a lot cheaper than that at Al*di and Li*di - I think around 33p (but has been a while since I've needed to buy them there).
TBH I usually wait until there's a good offer on and stock up - I got 4 packs for £1.99 just before Christmas which were on BOGOF which brought the price down to 25p/tin and also got some 4 for £1 a few weeks ago (both Mr T). HTHGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Popped into Horrorsons with £1.50 in my pocket (didn't even take purse!) and spent £1 on apples. Their 30p fruit and veg offer didn't last long did it!
Well done everyone for totals so far. Don't feel too down if you've gone over, just think how much worse it would have been before.
