I actually completely agree with Dognobs. We are seeing all to often on these boards people claiming that there is no work out there but as soon as their youngest turns 7 - a wee job just pops out of nowhere

But what has it got to do with you then? Have you been appointed by Osbourne to be his ever watchful eye on MSE?
Or maybe you have an opinion that means jack all to anybody except to those that follow in your footsteps - thanking each other along the way.0 -
Careful you don't fall off your high horse, look what happened to Christopher reeve!
And for the record you made yourselves look like a bunch of meanies, and as several posts were removed from this thread it looks like the staff/mods of this site thought so too!
Yeah ok. none of my posts were removed, and I was not aware that any were. MSE does not have mods anyway.
The points we raised weren't addressed though were they?
OP I wish you the best of luck. I think your intention to leave an 11 yrs old with ADHD alone is wrong, but it's your decision to make.0 -

Then again you didn't address one of mine either?
The government don't agree with you otherwise the op would be in receipt of DLA and carers allowance.
They clearly believe the child does not need any extra help than that of a healthy child. If they thought otherwise they would allow a claim of the above benefits.
Her child has to attend secondary school every week day, a child has to make their own way to school and back everyday and although i can't speak of the op's child but most eleven year old's these days have to leave their home's alone in the dark (if it's winter time) and head off on public transport through town's and city's throughout the UK and head for school. (parent's either in work, don't drive or have to take younger children to a primary school at a different location.)
Why would it be acceptable to allow that but not allow a child to stay home alone or as the OP stated with older siblings at times?0 -
the government actually allow children as young as 7 to walk to and from school alone, only children in infant school have to be collected by a responsible person. i wouldn't leave a 7 year old alone at home, would you?But you didn't answer mine?

That maybe so, then again i would not allow my 7 year old to walk to school alone either just because someone say's it's ok.
The point i am making is a child is at greater risk of harm in my opinion being out in the middle of a city at half seven in the morning than being at home yet that is acceptable where the other is not.
The op also stated that the child tends to sleep in a lot, and that there are older siblings who would be able to check on him but i forget their ages yet ignore this fact and choose to bully the op by calling her a bad mother etc...0 -

i would be interested to see the statistics showing the number of incidents involving children out at 7.30/8 in the morning and the number of accidents involving children in the home.Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.

you edited your post as i was typing. regarding your edit, i saw the posts before they were removed and none were bullying, they were merely expressing surprise at the OPs statement that she plans to leave an 11 year old with adhd home alone, when she'd previously stated that the child's problems were so bad that childminders were out of the question.Birthdays are good for you. None of the posts were removed, except the OP who deleted hers because it was suggested that leaving an 11 yo child with ADHD home alone with his elder siblings who would be 'in and out'Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0
