Asda customer care NOT

I have just been back to Asda where thought I had brought a Nintendo 3Ds but I received a sealed box which on opening at home contained nothing more than a tin of sweetcorn wrapped in toilet roll.
I didn't open it until I returned home and then returned it straight back to Asda were all of the customer service staff where very helpful and sorry BUT the DUTY manager basically told me that I had done it. So I would not be receiving either a refund or a replacement. I am now waiting until the Manager returns on Monday to See what if anything Asda are going to do about it.
Now I am over 50 and a member of my local church, what upset me more than not receiving a refund etc was being called a liar in front of at least 20 people who had gathered around the desk by this time.

That's really horrible the way they treated you. You definitely need to make a complaint against them. According to one of the threads here, their address is
Asda House,
South Bank,
Gtreat wilson Street,
Leeds
LS11 5AD.
Telephone 0113 2417732.0 -

The manager will give you a exchange or refund on this. Its pretty basic training that you have to assume the customer is telling the truth in situations like this unless there's an obvious deception. Goodwill is definately an option here to ask for when when you get your exchange/refund on Monday.
Not sure what your age and religion has to do with anything though. Its almost like your saying you naturally have a higher moral standard than other people and should be believed more due to your choice of Sunday club and age.0 -
Can you post a piccy of the receipt for the Nintendo 3Ds.
Not that I don't believe you just that your first ever post was 5.45am on the other thread today and you joined August 2010?0 -
Also post a picture of the sweetcorn and toilet roll0

Trying to work out if a tin of sweetcorn wrapped in toilet roll will fit in Nintendo 3DS box?
Size of console (when closed) - 2.9" high, 5.3" long, 0.8" deep
Anyone got a Nintendo 3DS packaging to see if the area where the console fits will take a tin of sweetcorn?0 -

Well said, my thoughts exactly.
Seems the OP prefers Asda to church on a Sunday morning anyway.0 -
ToysRUs did something very similar to me years ago (I have never shopped there since) but because I was only 24 years old and an atheist to boot I guess I deserved to be treated that way.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j
OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.
Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -
