I did read something about a month ago in the papers about them going into administration...can't remember what though.

You definitely did not read about Thomas Cook going into administration thats why you can't remember.

People or the opposition keep scaremongering won't help,

and Mr Wang i can't imagine it will affect you, can't see you doing a package holiday.

And if it makes anyone feel reassured our Thomas Cook is doing a roaring trade:T and Thomsons around the corner is practically having to give holidays away to get the business.

    And long may it continue!

We have been good customers of Thomson for the last several years. Last year, we did three different package tours with them. However, over the last trip we did, there was a disagreement which was sorted out eventually but I was well and truly fed up of them.

This year, we have a trip in March booked with First Choice (yes, I know the same company) but we booked online instead of price matching in the shop. Second trip booked for June and we have gone with Thomas Cook. Not only because I have very much fallen out of love with my local Thomson but also because the prices were much more competitive.

I usually book with thomson but this year their prices have gone far too expensive,so i have booked with thomas cook and no i am not worried that they will go under.

Lets hope they keep their prices down in the future that way far more people will book with them and avoid thomson
  • They sailed close to the wind, but seem to have got away with it, let's hope it stays that way

Hi fellow forums users. I relatively new to this but I wish to share my Holiday nightmare with others
Has anyone had trouble with Thomas Cook and holidays to the Villa Rosa in Portugal in particular.
Three years ago after my partner had suffered a brain haemorrhage after giving birth to our beautiful daughter. I thought It would be nice to help her recuperation and book a nice quiet family holiday, the brochure made the Villa Rosa sound just what was needed.
That is when the nightmare began, the Villa Rosa is far from quiet see trip advisor or similar it is horrendous with barking dogs day and night all around the complex. Thomas Cook have been unhelpful don't follow their own procedures and general try to wear you down so that you will just go away.
I am looking for help here from other forum users who have been to this complex and suffered as my family and I. The whole experience set back my partners rehabilitation months.
Please let me know your experiences
    Paul

When Thomas Cook print their brochures, i don't think they can allow for barking dogs in the area, other than that was the place quiet or were there other issues.
  • Paul, you would probably be better off posting on Holidaytruths.co.uk. They can offer advice on their forum with regard to complaints and you will be able to see if other people are complaining also. Same goes for Trip Advisor.

HI thanks for the additional feedback,
I would like to say to stephb34 I appreciate your comments but would like to add the following comment Information supplied by known long established travel agents should in the very least be truthful. Would you consider taking your family on holiday if the brochure read.
Nice place, great staff, I know it says in the brochure there is one but the gym is locked and cannot be used health and safety reasons Oh the steam room mentioned in the brochure hasn't been working in however long.
Oh did we fail to tell you that you will not get any sleep as the only room Thomas Cook rent are at the back of the complex next to the road with the noisy local bars and as for the big black dog and little white dog that get beaten regularly by there owners and bark twenty four seven. Would you book a holiday in that facility.
If you look on the other forums this has been ongoing for years and it is still ongoing surely this is misrepresentation.

Did you not read about the place you went to before you went?!

Sorry to hear about your wife.
