hi all
i have been looking at a few holidays on thomas cook and have noticed that a few i found (a few months ago) and have been keeping my eye on weekly (for price drops) have totally disappeared eg they are not giving the option of flying to menorca from belfast at all!
do you think this is the first sign of thomas cook going under, or is there a possibily that all holidays to menorca from belfast have been sold in the last week lol

Er, no! Maybe they have pulled some UK airports in favour of others or maybe it is full. Either way, they are not going underdo you think this is the first sign of thomas cook going under

If you've been watching it for a few months they haven't therefore all sold out in the last week, probably the last few seats have sold and now its full, as i would think they only have 1 or 2 flights a week going out of belfast.
Thomas cook are not going out of business unless your talking to the manager of our local thomsons shop.0 -
why not check belfast airport flight departures see if the flights do go from there.
i booked with thomas cook a few years ago well in advance of date of travel to fly from leeds bradford, when i checked leeds airport website the flight didnt exist. after contacting travel agents they eventually admitted the flight didnt exist they were not flying to dalaman and offered to change the booking for me to fly from manchester.0 -
Why is everyone so obsessed all of a sudden about Thomas Cook going bust they wont be bust anytime in the near future0

Have just booked flights to Turkey from Glasgow, lots of flights are now sold out, the thing is January is the busiest time for bookings, so many holidays and flights disappear. I am having to fly home two days earlier because the flight I wanted booked up in the last few days.0

totallybroke,
I've been having bother with Thomas Cook from Belfast as well. Tried different holidays on different dates to different places and nothing much is showing up. Just looked up flights from Belfast to Mahon with flythomascook and the last dates showing up are 16th - 23rd July. They're not showing any holidays after end of June for Menorca from Belfast either. Either something is wrong with the web site for Belfast flights or something is up. I have booked with them for May for Majorca and am now getting worried.0 -
A couple of years ago I was looking at holidays with them, and a flight I found would show up and then disappear, then reappear. Over and over and over.. I emailed their web team to ask did the flight actually exist or not, and couldnt get a straight answer out of them! I mean either it does or it doesnt??
I got fed up and booked with First choice instead.
One time I did use thomas cook, but as I dont trust the info on their website, I printed off a quote and took it into my local agent and asked them to match the price. I figured then at least if something went wrong I could talk to a person, and not a moron who works on their website.0 -
Its a double edged sword. Stop booking and increases the chances of them going under - Carry on booking and risk losing your holiday.
Personally I wouldn't touch them.0 -

Book by credit card and you are covered for any cancellation and consequential loss.
OP, it is still possible to book flights from BFS to MAH for the summer period so I would guess there is a glitch in the booking system. Pretty irresponsible to scaremonger about the possibility of them going under.0
