AQA acceptance

I'm doing my first test tonight. :eek: It would be absolutely fantastic for me if I was to manage to get this work as I am stuck in the house every evening when the kids are in bed and it would go nicely towards my debts.

Does anyone have any useful advice for taking the test? If I do the test tonight and send it off, what happens next? How long does it take for a response etc?

Depending on what hours you senior researcher works, you usually find out the next day. It is easier to complete to 30 questions in the evening when it is busier.

I applied, did the 12 question test, and got rejected a day later.:mad:
Usually it takes them 4 days to get an answer back.
Try and do the test asap as think they accept people on a first come first serve basis.
From what i know, if you pass the 12 question test, you get to do another test of 30 questions, after which you can start work properly. GOOD LUCK ex spendaholic. I've just looked over my answers and i think they are quite good, OH well, so is life.

My advice is (and I must be doing something right as I got 96% on my first review last week ) to always stick withink the word count- if you go over or under the limits you will be heavily penalised when they mark you. Also, pay close attention to your spelling and grammar- you do get marked on that too and even little mistakes can cost you marks. Finally, when you are searching for information on the web and finding it hard to get info, try similar words, eg I had to find out about the bend of a rainbow and found nothing, when I searched for 'curve' of rainbow I found what I needed. I did the test tonight. I looked at it and thought that I could easily complete it within half an hour. However NT Hell :mad: was particularly hellish tonight meaning it took an age to search for anything and it was 1 hour 20 minutes before I could submit.

Anyway I stuck within the word count for everything and my spelling/grammar was perfect and in my opinion the answers were well written.

There was 1 question that I simply could not find an answer to so I put my own and then put in the source box that I was unsuccessful in finding information so had put what I believed to be the answer.

It would be wonderful to be accepted but the reality is I don't know if I will as the competition is sure to be fierce and my time taken was a bit on the long side.

Will let you know the outcome.

NT hell must have been bad - multiple postings ex spendaholic.
I to had the same problem, started the test and of all the times, my Broadband went down and decided not to submit the test as didn't get internet back till the next day. Let me know you get on. i would love to have this job, but can't seem to past the test ;-(
Thinking its just not for me !
