I'm just coming to the end of a 12 month cashback deal on O2 CPW. I called CPW to get my PAC code and cancel the contract and got put through to retentions.
I was surprised to be offered a deal to stay - I thought that these were only avaialble with mainstream O2.
Anyway I have been offered 400 minutes, 500 texts per month and a new Nokia 6230i for £35 per month with £340 cashback over 2 payments, months 4 and 12.
This will be a 12 month contract.
It works out at £7 per month plus I'll get about £60 for the phone so that's £20 for the year.
I've used CPW for cashback several times and not had any problems but never had a retention deal before.
Anyone got any experience of these - do they work the same as standard cashbacks?

I'm nearly 3/4 way through a CPW O2 12mth contract of £35/mth (cashback offer).
You have no idea how delighted I am to hear they are offering special deals through retentions - shall be making use of this!0 -
dont forget to add £12 for itemised billing if its compulsary, something they dont tell you.ummm...0

I forgot to add that my initial contact with CPW was yesterday when I spoke to a guy who made me the offer mentioned above. I asked him to call me back (big mistake) because I had the children with me and couldn't concentrate.
I didn't get a call so decided to call them again this evening. This time the girl I spoke to said all they could offer is £300 cashback. I made a big fuss and insisted on speaking to her manager. After a long wait listening to lift music she came back herself and said that they would honour the deal from yeaterday.
I just hope that I don't have difficulty getting them to honour this, shame it's not automatic cashback. But I guess that would just be asking too much!0 -
I've just taken up a similar (though not quite as good) retention deal with O2/CPW: I have been getting 200 mins + 100 texts for £30/month plus cash back through E2Save (think it worked out about £10/month). O2/CPW offered me 400 mins + 500 texts for £35/month plus £300 cash back and a new nokia 6233 phone so same monthly cost but new phone and more airtime! I'm well chuffed especially as I was really worried about all the hassle of cancellation notices and porting my number etc and in any case wanted to stay with O2. :j0

Called them today and i was told i'm too early , was told to call back in march ... cant wait0

i have found o2 CPW quite strange with my dealings. I phoned up the loyalty department about a week too early and i was told that i could have a deal without any problems (o2 leisure 1000mins off peak, free line rental), but didn't take it as i needed to wait for my final bill for cashback reasons.
I phoned up yesterday as i was in the time for the notice but would not be put through to loyalty department as apparently my contract wasn't up till march, due to a delay with my original number port. She said the loyalty team would not answer my call. After much discussion i gave up.
i phoned them later with a separate query relating to another o2 CPW contract, the advisor then said that looks like i am eligible for an upgrade deal (this is the number i was on about above) i said i was told i needed to wait till march, but he said no its fine and put me through. I think i went to the upgrade department, i said i was originally offered th leisure tarriff so he put me through to the loyalty dept. Guess what, they took my call. They diddn't give me the deal i wanted as it had apparently expired, but i got one instead where i get 400 off peak mins for £2 for the whole year - no redemtions. The wouldn't off the new phone and the anytime mins to me, probably because i used to stick to the allowance.
I was told it would start from the 11th march, but started straight away, i will have to check my bill when i receive it.
this shows that not all the staff are up to scratch with everything and their systems between departments are faulty.:cool:0 -
make sure anything they offer is in writing as they can easily deny it at a later date0

I've just replied about CPW on another post.......
Whatever you get offered make sure you get it in an email, I got told the offer would be sent immediately once agreeing to the upgrade, needless to say 3 weeks later I'm still waiting, and yes the offer I got told over the phone turned out different to what I actually got.
Was offered SE850 12 month contract, 250 mins 100 txt, 2 x £75 auto cashback, but the clincher for the deal was an auto initial cashback of £90 which made the contract equilevent of £10 pm, unfortunately for me the £90 bit has been conveniently "forgotten" and there are no records of it ever having been given.
This is still ongoing........yawn0
