    Woodbine, re post 9.

My personal experience was IB due for review Oct 2010, review went through for another 18 months taking me to April 2012. Got a letter in March 2011 advising me they were transferring me to ESA, then a phonecall "Can you walk up 2 steps unaided?" No, "how do you manage in the house?" Stairlift , Received ESA 50 in June 2011, filled in and sent off in june 2011, and finally got the paperwork to say I was in the support group on 19th December. Although I had called the helpline (that makkes me smile because they are anything but) in October 11 on a number of occasions and was told 1. The ESA50 had not been returned (Sent recorded delivery, and spoke to someone on 13 July regarding the content) 2. I was in support group, 3. I was in the work related activity group, 4. I was in the Support Group.

Unfortunately Woodbine, there does not appear any rhyme or reason for what the dwp do, or when they do it? I am afraid it's probably going to be a case of wait for the brown envelope! When it does arrive research the descriptors and send as much evidence as possible! Good luck

I ws told in November 2010 that I wouldn't be reviewed again for 3 years..

But then in July 2011 I had to fill out ESA50 and was transferred sans ATOS medical to ESA support group.

Just this week I got another ESA50 to fill out. I expect to be reviewed about twice a year, but it's just a pain.

On the other side - I'm on ESA, and had an ESA50 in September.
They still have not processed it. (but have got it)

My IB review was due in March 2011. I received my ESA 50 at the beginning of Dec. I have not heard anything from the DWP since sending it back.

Many Thanks to all who are contributing to this thread.
My IB review date was 4 weeks ago but I have heard nothing.
I am a bit surprised, because within a few days of all the other review dates they sent me another form, sometimes I had to attend a so called medical, sometimes not.
So am interested to read these replies and see it is not uncommon.

Btw, it's a WHITE envelope you receive from ATOS, not a brown one ;)

Yikes that means I won't look at any envelopes..lol

I've given up waiting for my assessment, although I do admit I do still dread getting the post in just in case.

I don't have a review date as they decided to do my last IB report indefinitely - I know that doesn't mean forever - and as my MH illness is one of those that DWP class as severe (well they did, who knows what they call it now!) I actually managed to secure my IB last time without a medical. I have absolutely no idea when they will send me all the migration stuff - probably next year at the rate they are getting through migration. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason it at the moment. Although I am hoping that maybe they have forgotten me - yeah some hope..:rotfl:

I think it's the not knowing that is getting to me, if they could give a definate date and stick to it then I would probably feel a wee bit better, not much but a bit.

  • Whats a Review?
The DWP = Legally kicking the Disabled when they are down.
  • My IB claim last reviewed in Jan 2011, given review date of Jan 2014. Thought - phew that will probably be when they transfer me to ESA then.
Errr no - 8 weeks later I got the white envelope advising me that I was due to be transferred.
Nobody at DWP can explain why they want to review me so early when they set the review date at 2014.
Finally managed to complete my ESA50 in Oct. Wrote to them twice in Nov and Dec, still awaiting a reply. Have been too ill to attend for the scheduled ATOS appointments.

I remain entitled to IB - their own report from ATOS shows no improvement likely for at least 2 years, so I wonder whether they can actually stop paying me IB until the scheduled review date in 2014?
Interesting legal point, and I wonder if it has been tested.
