Hi there

I was wondering if anyone could help me.

My 8 year old daughter has been playing a FREE game on my iPhone called Pet Shop. She has been buying things in the shop in this game and has run up a bill of 250 Euros to my credit card!!

Please does anyone have any advice or know how I can get this money back.

Many thanks

You need to turn off the ability to make in app purchases. It is hidden somewhere in the general settings. It won't solve your current problem but at least you won't have this problem in future.

someone recently DID get it back by phoning Apple - might be worth the one phone call to see how far you get...

And then remove the Credit card and use Itunes vouchers for purchases, limit your future risk.

Did you daughter have your iTunes account password ?

I only say that because every time i buy something from iTunes it asks me for my user and password

Or does it just automatic take it when playing a game

My Grandchildren play on my iPhone but i have not had a bill yet touch wood.

In app purchases don't ask for the password last time I checked. Could be wrong though.

When i buy or update my Apps iTunes always asks for my password before it will do anything.

You are wrong. All purchases require the password, however once you have put the password in it will remain signed in for a few minutes, enabling further purchases/downloads to be made without the password needing to be re-entered.
  • after downloading a game for my child, I always turn off the ipod touch and then put it back on, to stop the credit card from being active! if the child trys to download another game, a password is required for the credit card, if she wants another new game!
