I would recommend in this order Panasonic, Sony,Toshiba.:)
Personally I would not touch Samsung or LG, which just goes to show how opinions differ.:p0 -
got 2 LGs here
one 50" plasma,one 37" lcd
neither has given any problems in 2+ years
plasma has an excellent screen,razor frame,DNLA etc0 -
Have just had to replace an LG 32"LCD after 6 years, it is repairable, not economic though, the PSU capacitors had dried out, so whilst on standby OK, switch of at the wall. endgame. £125 for a new board,
But overall I would say LG are fine, I can recommend their PC monitors, a 19" LCD monitor We have used for 7 years is only just getting reluctant to come on not bad for a screen in use most of the day for work and gaming.0 -
What's their budget?
I would recommend in this order
Samsung,Panasonic,Sony,Toshiba,LG
£300. Looking around £280 seems to be the average for a 26" We've got to get a hard disc recorder for them as well because of DSO so that's all they can put towards the new telly.
There was a good model on Richer Sounds for about £280 and given opinions on here though mixed LG or Samsung does sound the way to go....0
