You have to keep on ringing up. Wait until you find a salesperson that you can haggle with. From what I've read it may take several calls to find the right person.

There's a post recently about haggling with Dell, and how to go about getting the best deal. I can't find it at the moment, you'll need to search around the forums.

Is it not specific to them though? Surely the quote and reference is for them (and not something everyone can use).

Have you tried the advice given, or found the thread I was talking about?

And you may what to upgrade the screen to a ultra-sharp 19" for about £50 more.

Why would you want to do that? its more of a downgrade.
the E207WFP is a very nice monitor

The "E" versions of the monitor are the more budget range. So the 1907FP is a higher quality monitor than the E207WFP. However (as you mentioned) either are very nice monitors. I have to say I too would go for the larger widescreen tft over the 19" (especially as you save £50 too).

  • hi wolfman, it seems like me and you are the only ones in this forum lol thanks for your advice. The reason why i need the qupte reference number is so the sales person can find the same price for me since he cant believe that the original person was offered that spec for £575

    :)

Ah ok. Yeah would be interesting to see if the OP posts it.

Still, keep trying. Sometimes you'll find a really keen salesman that you can bargain with. Also mentioning things like you're buying for a small business, or can bring them further custom helps.
