mechy wrote:I'm a little confused by this pricing. I have just looked at my bill on 18866, a call for approx 13.57 mins was about .089P. When I ring a number, the voice says the call will be charged at .5P a minute. So as you see, my bill isnt being charged at the .2P a minute that everyone else seems to being charged,(not that I'm complaining). Could it be that it has something to do with when you register. ie if it was before the price hike date??. Be interested to know if any one else has noticed this. Bye the way, I'm connected thru the brilliant "orchid dialler", if you havent got one, then get one, you wont be dissapointed.
14 minutes * .5 p/min = 7p Connection charge 2p - total 9p
Looks like the bill is showing £ (just as mine does) and is showing 8.9 p which is about correct.

'erm, isn't it 2p connection charge only, and no charge for the call. I guess mechy must have a non-BT line?0

Does sound like they have a non-BT-line-rental line, if that is the case they would be better off using Call 1899 via their 0808 number, as they would only pay the 3p per call for UK landlines. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

It has also been suggested on MSE that you combine 18866 or 1899 for that matter with a free package of evening and w/end calls which means that you are only paying for actual calls you make and not paying £10 a month for 16 plus calls a day that you may not make?
Still a bargain as far as I am concerned
im on BT. so would it be worth me signing up to the basic TalkTalk plan?. or the 18866 please?.
if so how would i do that?. & is it free?
many thanks charlotte0 -
You can use both TalkTalk and 18866. The basic plan with TalkTalk at the moment is free w/end calls to 01/02 numbers and free calls to other TalkTalk numbers at all times.
You can then use 18866/1899/18185 for all calls outwith this time period.

There is no charges for any of these apart from of course the calls you make.
