Is this one going to run on like last night? In which case I'll get the popcorn ready. :D

Oh and by the way Transco became National Grid, what was it? Oh yes - six and a bit years ago. 'bout time people caught up really. ;)

    Cheers

Hi KS yes you are right, sorry but you know what we are like, i still get calls asking if i'm corgi reg & they seem very surprised when i say no, i'm gas safe reg, here in the south where i am it's southern gas networks, older boilers do give off a smell it's got nothing to do with the additive they put into natural gas because if it did then your boiler hasn't got complete combustion which in it's self is a prob, the op asked the question then when they are given good advice like get your local gas transporter to check it out, they just say i don't have a prob all the checks have been done & if i had a gas leak then i would have blown up !!!! so if you know everything why ask for expert advice on here, if as you say you have had a candle put in there (never heard it called that before) then you have an open flued boiler so IMO it's prob time for a new one anyway.
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

    Hi.

I have to say (in your posts) there is no suggestion that the smell is only there whilst the boiler is running. I would have come to the same conclusion as everyone else.

Using a candle to prevent CO could be a money spinner though. You might want to get a patent on that.

It won't cost you anything to call Nat Grid so why not do it?

Your posts also suggest only one engineer has ever serviced the boiler . Maybe he is missing something?
