My sony tv had the same problem, cost me about £80 to fix it was something todo with the internal transformer.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Where devices are always left on standby, the capacitors on the power supply board, it is more than just a transformer, as there may well be both 5 volt and 12 volt or other feeds, dry out, and all is well until you have a power cut, or in an attempt to be more eco friendly switch it off at the socket. When you power it up, it is kaput.
Seems to becoming more and more common. as the boards aren't cheap, in the same way a generic PC PSU is.0 -

hi everyone!!!! my toshiba 37 inch tv (model 37XV553DB/37XV503DB) has developed a fault, i cant actually switch it on anymore, the red light comes on when i press the button on the side but rather than going green and switching on, the light fades! gutted isnt the word. i bought it from tesco direct 2 years 8 months ago, hardly any time at all. ive heard of someone with a faulty washing machine getting a gift card with £ 100 on it towards a new one. she said you can do this up to about 5 or 6 years. does anyone have experience of this and can you tell me how to proceed? thank you.
I would give Tesco a shout and see what they can do for you a phone call is all thats needed and you maybe surprised by the results.0 -
