Why indeed. That waste of space Tsipras, will go back to Greece telling them all what a great deal he's done, when in reality he's just dropped them further in the !!!!.0 -

Obama has "intervened". Expresses "strong desire" for resolution that doesnt involve Russian tanks finding a new home in Syntagma Square.0

It's going on a bit isn't it!
Greece to submit something on Thursday. Leaders to discuss it Sunday. Seems to be purposely delaying the pain for the Greeks.
The default on the IMF seems to have been casually forgotten. All that fuss about the deadline....it passes and no one seems to mention it again!
I note that Merkel has been warning Greece that they don't hav much time left....again. She also warns them that debt relief is NOT on the cards.
2 weeks ago they only had a day left. Now they only have "a few days".The Greek government has been told by its eurozone partners not to expect debt relief any time soon, amid fading hopes of decisive action to stop the country tumbling out of the currency union.
Arriving at an emergency summit of eurozone leaders, Angela Merkel said there was no clear basis to negotiate with Athens after Greek voters rejected an EU bailout plan in a referendum on Sunday. The German chancellor warned that time was running out. “It is not a matter of weeks anymore, it is a matter of days.”0 -
Ohhhh, a plan has now been created for Greece to exit the EU.
Seems on Sunday we'll know whether Greece is still part of the EU or not.
Appears that if Greece don't agree to what's already been offered, without debt relief, that's it, no more discussions, Greece will be bankrupt and the banking system insolvent.
Also appears that the EU's stance has intensified. Greece now have to sign up to the deal before any further discussions will happen on short term funding. So even if they sign up, Greece still won't be furnished with the short term funding plans.
So without debt relief, it appears to be a case of do Greece go bankrupt now, or in a few years time.0 -
Just saw Angela Merkel on tv. She has the appearance of someone who hasn't slept for a week. Why doesn't Tsipras also look like that? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Tsipras doesn't seem to be burning much midnight oil preparing for meetings.
Plus he's insanely optimistic. Bet he sleeps like a log.0 -
Tprsias or whatever his name is not very autocorrect friendlyLeft is never right but I always am.0

Well I hazard a guess that if Greece goes and defaults 100% then all the accumulated losses will be crystallised - and we don't really know where they are going to end up but maybe a lot is with German taxpayers and banks....hence Merkels worry if a major German bank is going to implode.
Its all a bit like the old saying of "you own your bank £100K you have problems - you owe your bank £100m they have problems".0
