Rock and a hard place. There's no easy answers for the man on the street. Pain is envitable.
True. Although holding the Greek referendum after all of the money supply has been switched off seems a bit silly. They could be looting by Sunday. Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0 -

Why was the card played so late. Greek Government is playing brinkmanship. It's ideals are anti austerity. It's closer to Russia than Europe in thinking. The crisis all though small. Is exposing the fragilities of the whole concept of the EU.0 -
Greek government official has officially stated that the IMF will not be getting their loan repayment tommorow.
The IMF however are no longer stating that Greece will have defaulted.
Instead, they claim that Greece will simply be in arrears.0 -
I can't claim this as original, but posted elsewhere today:
SOCIALISM:
You have 2 cows.
The State takes one and gives it to your neighbour.
COMMUNISM:
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and gives you some milk.
FASCISM:
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and sells you some milk.
BUREAUCRACY:
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both, shoots one, milks the other and throws the milk away.
CAPITALISM:
You have two cows.
You sell one and buy a bull.
Your herd multiplies.
You sell them and retire on the income.
AND THEN THERE'S THE GREEK SYSTEM:
You have two cows borrowed from the French and Germans.
You eat both of them.
The French & Germans call to collect their milk, but you cannot deliver so you call the IMF.
The IMF loans you two cows.
You eat both of them.
The French, Germans and the IMF call to collect their cows/milk.
You decide to call a referendum. There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0 -
Cant we just have an island each on lease for say 50 years and call it quits ?Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0
