    I've been Money Tipped!
I could probably fill a book with mine! Yes I am a grumpy old woman but here are some of them.

People who do not clear up after their dogs - particularly the person who lets their dog crap on my front garden. I have a dog and always clear up after him.
People who walk 2, 3 or more abreast so you cannot get past them. The school kids round by me do this and if you are coming towards them they just stare you out and I end up walking in the road.
People who push on the bus when others are trying to get off
People who sit on the outside seat leaving the inside one empty when the bus/train whatever is crowded. Or if they sit on the inside one and put their bag on the outside one.
People who stand far too close behind you in queues and if you move forward they do too.
People who throw rubbish on the pavement even when they are standing next to a bin
People in shops who wait until their purchase(s) has been rung through and then start looking for their purse or wallet and then often count out the money in loads of change which takes ages
Customers that I am serving talking on their mobiles the whole time
Customers who don't say one word to me so I think they must have lost their voice or be dumb and then as they walk away from the counter start chatting on the phone or to a friend
Customers who put their money on top of the item(s) they are buying so I have to pick it up to scan the item(s)
People who when you tell them how much they need to pay put the money on the counter so you have to pick it up - is it so difficult to give it to me? Also when it involves loads of small coins it is extremely annoying. Would they like it if I put their change on the counter?
    Customers who are rude
Customers who seem to think it is my fault the card machine is slow or their card is declined
Customers who walk through the doorway of the shop and immediately shout "do you sell ......" without even trying to look for it.
    Customers in general!!!!

Rude old people. Some old people seem to have general shockingly bad attitudes and really seem to frown on anyone below the age of 60. They are the new yobbos I tell you. Over the past month, in two seperate incidents, my son has been screamed at by an elderly woman at a bus stop, and I have been verbally abused in a supermarket by an old woman. They think they can say and do whatever they want - then blame the younger person. Some of them are vile

Totally agree, I have encountered so many rude old people!

I was on my way into a shop once and could see a load of people coming towards me so I held the door open, about 10-15 elderly people walked through and I didn't get a single thank you. At the back of the group was a young goth couple who were very polite and said thanks very much:)

People who stand right behind me when I'm paying at the till, particularly when I'm entering my PIN.

Shop assistants who give me funny looks when I produce my own shopping bags instead of using the shop's ones. This even happens in shops where they sell their own reusable bags. Some will "allow" me to pack certain items in my own bags and then try to pack other items like clothing, greetings cards etc in one of their bags even after I've repeated, "that's fine thanks, I have my own bag".

People who assume things about you (and others). Sometimes that's inevitable of course but other times there are no excuses for assumptions.

People ten or twenty years my junior telling me I should have more children and giving me 'reasons' like "you don't look your age" as if that is a perfectly valid reason to have children. There are many reasons why I won't be having any more children and also reasons why it's very unlikely I can have more children anyway (including the obvious my age). Even more annoying when we've had the same conversation before. Its really none of your business and one day I will loose my rag!

Sorry, priviledges of able bodied - I didn't realise they were second class citizens being given priviledges such as being able to get down the same street as you.

Perhaps you would like some of their priviledges - being in severe constant pain every minute of every day to name one. Do not generalise about being lazy people. At the age of 24 being in a scooter is the last thing my daughter wants to be seen in but she doesn't have a choice.

So long as your daughter doesn't weight 20 stone and drive at pedestrians from behind at 15mph on her scooter, I've no issue with her.;)

Absolutely pathetic - grow up girl, being disabled is nothing to laugh about and does not make you a second class citizen. Adding a wink does not make your post any less disrespectful to my daughter.

  • I often shop in a shop that has card-only self-service tills. If you want to use a voucher or cash or buy some paracetamol etc you have to queue for the manned till. 9 times out of 10, all the self-service tills will be free, and I have to stand there for ages while everyone in the queue in front of me pays at the manned till with their cards! !!!!!! is wrong with these people? Why are they so selfish, holding up the whole queue for no reason? If they're getting cashback or cigarettes or something then fine but people who queue up all that time to buy a tin of beans and pay on their card when they could have gone to the self-service and been out of the shop ages earlier? GRR.

On the train people sometimes sit next to me and I can feel their elbows sticking in my sides OR they knock into me every two minutes! Space is limited during my morning commute but it's not THAT bad!

It also annoys me when people are looking forward to something and they say they have 5 more sleeps or 2 more sleeps or whatever! Grrr..why sleeps? Why not just say 5 days!

Also hate it when people say 'OMG' instead of 'oh my god'
  • People who walk around with their umbrellas still up when it's clearly stopped raining. I mean, how thick do you need to be? You know who you are. You, you walk right past me, you see that I am carrying a now-folded umbrella and have put my hood down because it stopped raining a good ten minutes ago. I know you clock all of this because we have that awkward moment of eye contact that sometimes happens when you pass someone on the street, but what do you do? Do you wisely choose to put your umbrella down like a sane person? No, because that would be an admission that you are in the wrong; you carry on walking around with it held high in some deluded attempt at maintaining your dignity, hoping that the only people you will pass on the remainder of your journey will be other people who also haven't yet figured out that water is no longer falling out of the sky. Just put your umbrellas away you fools.

(I don't know why this bothers me so much but it makes me want to snatch their umbrellas off them and jab them in the eye with them.)

Having read the whole thread I have to say being a vegetarian is one of the annoying parts of my life. I often get the following questions..

Why are you vegetarian? Do you love animals?
    Do you like chicken?
    Do you like fish?
Are you a fussy eater then?
    So what DO you eat?

It's so annoying...I'm veggi, why can't people just leave it as that. At work when we go out for meals or order food in and I say I don't like onions for example I'm met with 'Uh, you don't like anything you!!' WHAT? Onions and meat - shoot me!

On my birthday my team organised a little buffet, knowing I was vegetarian they bought cheese and ham balls, sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, pork pies, haribos (not of the veggi kind!) and cheese and onion rolls (I managed to snaffle one!) The thought was there and god love them but next year I will definately organise the buffet!!

Not far from me there's a hairdressers called 'OMG'. I'm thinking about ringing them just to see how they answer the phone, I'd love it if they actually said 'Hello, Oh My God'.
