People who makes pets out of their peeves.0
-
I am enjoying reading this thread.
My pet peeves are:
1) People who pronounce hospital as hospikal, similarly those who say bokkle for bottle.
2) Work colleagues telling me the same story over and over. I manage to remember who I've shared something with. I've heard one story five times now, despite me stopping the culprit on attempt No 3 to tell them they'd already told me, they carried on anyway
3) People (usually women) who wear trousers that are too long (maybe bought to wear with heels?) which results in the bottoms ending up torn and tattered, looks really awful.
4) My OH's preference of leaving Sky News on a continual, mind numbing and soul destroying loop of doom (slightly angry about that one aren't I? ha!)
5)Shop assistants who don't know the correct way to hand over change! You DON'T put notes in another persons hand and then pile all the coins, receipts and various useless vouchers on top to make it necessary to attempt to balance the whole lot elsewhere to separate it out. Why can't they hand you any notes in your change along with receipts and vouchers for you to hold between your thumb and forefinger, THEN pass you your coins which you can easily take in your palm. If you've even been given change correctly, you'll never want to go back, LOL!
Oh and this:

You've probably dealt with it now but if not please consider asking your vet to check your dogs' anal glands. They are easily emptied (the vet can show you how to) but are really painful for a dog.0 -
My pet peeves are dangerous drivers. Those that speed and tailgate and cut you up are so reckless. Also though the 'sunday drivers' who seem unable to just keep up with the normal speed of traffic or use their indicators, they can be just as much of a hazard as they are so unpredictable.
A couple of days ago a car was coming in the opposite direction to me, with a stream of cars building up behind it, and seemed to be moving by itself. It was only as it got really close that I saw an old man with a bald head barely able to see over the steering wheel :eek:Grammar: The difference between knowing your !!!!!! and knowing you're !!!!!! :cool:0 -
The punctuation police. Those who drop litter. People who are rude to shop assistants. The Tory Government. Intolerance of other people's lifestyles. Refusal to take the top paper. Constant swearing. Having a total lack of empathy. People who "only give to animal charities". Having an opinion on what other people choose to spend their money on. Those who use the word "Chav" as an insult (class hatred by the back door). The Daily Mail. Sky News. Olives. Cruelty to children. Disrespect of old people. Moaning about the NHS. Jeremy Clarkson. Jeremy Clarkson. Jeremy Clarkson.
These are a few of my least favourite things............(ha)0 -

Something else I hate is "Banter"
In other words, people being complete and utter t******, and using that word to hide behind to make it seem less so.

Bodily fluids - I do not need to see or hear these. Keep any movement of them discrete and dispose of them without endangering other people's health.
"you know" - No I do not know, if I did I would either not have asked you the questions / instigated the discussion / generally remarked on the matter
"kinda like" - it is not ever under any set of circumstances acceptable
Skid marks in toilets - sit further back, use the appropriate implements to remove
Blocking entrances / drives / access routes when you are not an emergency services - unnecessary you are not that important and you have legs crack on and deal with it
Leaving your rubbish from the overfilled bin you put out blow down the street and contaminating other people's property
Damaging over people's property and not owning up to this and making amends
Lying - really not the small stuff (or the hiding a nice surprise stuff) but the big stuff even by omission. if I have asked a question tell me the truth, even if it will change the world or my life or someone else's life
Not clearing up dog mess - you have a dog, clear the mess, I do
Walking 2 or more abreast across a pavement - only acceptable if you are part of a police cordon
Claiming you are too ill for work and then managing to run around and do personal stuff during the day - if you are ill go to bed, stay there and get well then get back to work
Over use of words in general - clearly, awesome, like, brilliant to name a few.
Badly researched questions from "reporters"
Taking Wikipedia / Google answers as verbatim without any effort to verify the authenticity of the information or the sources.
General rudeness - please / thank you / sorry / smile are not impossible
People who "forget" and lump their !!!! ups / additional work on you for an important deadline when their incompetence is the root cause and never acknowledge the effort made
People who think they are entitled to a pay rise despite not achieving anything for the past year just because "it's another year"
Incompetence - in any form - it is avoidable, so avoid itStart info Dec11

Have to agree with most of the above!!
Especially
* older people (or anyone really) who have all day to do their shopping, banking, etc, but do it in my lunch half hour, and are usually verrry slow doing everything
* drivers who dont indicate when coming off a round about, so you have to sit and wait
* people who let their dogs poop in public and dont pick it up
* people who spit in public
* "mum of the year award" going to 2nd rate celebrities
* same old tripe being trotted out on "talent shows" by contestants eg; It means everything to me, Its all Ive ever wanted, (which is why I dont watch them, now)
* bankers who get huge, undeserved bonuses
* pot holes in the road
* people who drop litter, or throw it out of a car window (should be a hanging offense)
* cheapskate relatives who buy you cheapy, crappy presents, that you dont like, will never use, and go straight from wrapping paper to charity shop
Having a bad day today, my impatience is showing!

People at gigs who have half a football field of room to dance around in yet have to come and whirl their arms around in front of you wafting their stinking armpits and whacking you. One more whack and I swear to God I'd have floored her.0

Rudeness to people who don't want children. We all have the right to decide, what makes one person's choice better than another's? And why would anyone wish a child to be born to parents who don't want it?
On the same sort of topic, people who ask a pregnant woman "was it planned?" If she's decided to go ahead with the pregnancy it's obviously a happy development no matter how it came to be, it's one of those questions where if you haven't been told the info, it isn't your place to ask for it.Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0
