You are right. I am sorry.
But that is normal reaction to something you find irritating. You find what I say irritating whilest I found very irritating for someone saying I am weird person for using hankershief. And disgusting if I use it in public.

Nope, dont see where I said you were disgusting or weird. Please do quote.....

I didn't say you? And where did I quote you? (apart from my appology)? To take it so personally?
I just read the 8 pages and some things stuck in my mind.

Any didn't say that you said she was disgusting or weird, she said it had been said earlier in the thread that handkerchief users and blowers-of-noses in public were disgusting or weird.

I do agree with you though pulliptears, pet peeves are personal opinions, they might seem silly to others, but they are legitimate because they are our pet peeves :). There doesn't need to be, and often isn't, any logical basis for our peeves.

Why take it personally? Perhaps because it was me that mentioned handkerchiefs and nose blowing. For the record this is what I actually said:
My husband who insists on pulling a grubby handkerchief out of his pocket in public and loudly blowing his nose. It riles me, I dont know of any other bloke who carries a hanky and its all a bit 'mummy's boy' to me. The foghorn sounds he emits wind me up even further. Problem is he knows it winds me up so does it all the more. lol

Nowhere did I state it was weird or disgusting, just that it riles me. I dont think anyone else said it was weird or disgusting either.

I don't want people to read this thread and think I ever said it was weird or disgusting because I most certainly didn't. From reading the post you made it gave the impression that I did. Thats why i felt the need to correct it.

Oh well, sorry then for misunderstanding, not sure now whether it was somewhere actually spelled out "disgusting" or "weird", but if something irritates someone it is usually not because they find it completely normal and something not to get a gringe over...IYKWIM?
So to me pointing it out means that you do not consider it the done thing..or rather just leaves you indifferent (as normal things do).

Its not the done thing amongst most of our friends no, I genuinely don't know any other man (in real life) that is happy to stop in the middle of Tesco and blow his nose loudly, or retrieve a grubby hanky out of his pocket to do it. I've always found it a bit odd I suppose. I just can't imagine Brad Pitt carrying a handkerchief, its not attractive to me in any way at all. It just seems a bit strange to me thats all. Its a minor irritation - a pet peeve.

I did say further on that people who spell 'Disgusting' as 'Discuting' irritates me so that might be where your confusion lies.
