It takes two to have an arguement or discussion - if it goes above your head, why post?

Osc, do you want a new member in the dream team or what?

I am one of you now, I am not paying back a thing again ever and when the issue arises, I am avoiding it...

In all honesty it does go above my head as I still actually want to repay what I owe but I have learnt that its not the done thing..please explain partner.

So lets assume you go to bank A who say you cant have loan without the PPI. You go to bank B who are the same.

You then go to the bank of ILW, who acknowledge that you dont require PPI, but having conducted the credit search, see the two previous searches and refuse to lend as it now looks you are desperate for money.

    Fair?

Think you are clutching at straws now, so it's all the reference agencies fault, why blame the banks?

Guess I find it all a bit hard to understand as I have never had PPI on a loan (Except a mortgage). I just said no. Does this make me unusual.

I didnt say that, but surely you agree that more than 2 searches in a very short period of time looks like desperation?

Maybe you were just more financially informed. Not everyone is - their skills could well lie in other areas.

EXACTLY! Most of us are not financial specialists, the banks, however, ARE.

You do not need to be a financial specialist to just turn down an offer you are not happy with.

Two very simple rules I always apply:

    1. If you require an answer now, it is no.

    2. Put your offer in writing and I will take it away and let you know if I wish to go ahead.

If the seller of whatever it is will not agree to these rules then no deal.

    it really is that simple.

Unfortunately I haven't got the benefit of a time machine to go back to the days when I took out credit cards and didn't know better. I have learnt something over the past 15 or so years but it's not retroactive. What's done is done!

15 years should be long enough to sort things out. That is unless you keep on borrowing more. If that is the case, who is to blame?

I took out the cards in the 90s up to 2001 so 10-15 years ago. PAID them all those years till the credit crunch caused by greedy banksters hit in 2009 so not 15 years to sort things out.

What I meant was 15 years should have been long enough to pay them off after your initial mistakes. The 2009 crunch would make no difference.
