Have to say that I have trouble understanding that as an argument.

I cant understand why, some banks have previously admitted their failings in the mis-sale of PPI. - Are you suggesting the banks didnt do anything wrong, ever.
For example, if I went to buy a car and was told that if I wanted to buy the car, I also had to purchase a motorbike. I would just turn down the whole deal. What is the difference?

Quite a big one. Is a motorbike going to protect you if your car fails? - Thats the whole point of PPI, but in many cases it didnt.

I assume as your so good at finances, and dont need PPI etc etc, because you can predict the future or have made provisions for it, you also dont seek medical advice for the same reasons?
No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

That is a different point. I was addressing (and quoting) a post that said they were missold PPI due to the fact that they were told they could not have the loan without it. Anyone in that situation is at liberty to walk away from the whole deal.
  • no that's not exactly true

if someone is in a bad position through NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN and they NEED the loan, then they will take it and the PPI, because they will have been pressurised into taking it by someone looking for that month's commission.

Like I've said before you all need to come down out of those ivory towers, the real world is a very much harder and nastier place than you appear to realise.

You should be aware that the dodgy opinions you hold could seriously damage some poor sod's chance of ever getting out from under a crippling amount of debt, but hey ho, you're happy, you never get ill, you all have really safe jobs and you're immune from accidents, so why should you care?

I have joined the no-payment gang now Oscar and just learning the way we respond...

so its, argue point, argue point and finish off with a mini (irrelevant) attack?

I am getting it, cheers Oscar52

(and not forgetting if they ask if we believe in paying back our debts we sidestep and retaliate? Sorry to be a nuisance but its going to get some getting used to)

...and obviously I (keep forgetting) bring up the 'ivory towers'. I notice these mythical towers get mentioned a LOT...

As a novice please let me know - is this where you all live? Or am I way off target?

    thanks again

why is that people who either do not borrow money, or do their best to pay it back if they do, all seem to live in Ivory Towers? Whatever they are.

It takes two to have an arguement or discussion - if it goes above your head, why post?

So lets assume you go to bank A who say you cant have loan without the PPI. You go to bank B who are the same.

You then go to the bank of ILW, who acknowledge that you dont require PPI, but having conducted the credit search, see the two previous searches and refuse to lend as it now looks you are desperate for money.

    Fair?

To insist demands of, or to coerce an individual
