the debt charities are more or less powerless and are funded mostly by the big banks
so do you think they put the needs of their debtor clients first or the need to secure sufficient funding to keep their jobs for another year?
do you think people who are in debt are all daft and dodgy?
do you think the financial sector are kindly do gooders only in business to look after their customers?
I think you need a crash course in research, read through the DFW board, read a few home truths that happen every day and then have a good think about who is downtrodden here.

how misguided are you?
how is that a comparison?
do you honestly think money is as important as lives? you are a very sad individual
On your point that the law is the law and slightly incorrect paperwork is a valid way if avoiding consequenses the comparison is totally valid.
If on the other hand you believe the spirit of the law is more important, then the entire UE industry would never have happened.0 -
do you honestly believe that the banks and the DCAs abide by the letter of the law?More than Two Years in

If you care to tell us actually what law they are breaking then maybe we could answer.0 -
Would you feel the same about people that get away with drink driving, purely because the officer missed out a tick box on the charge sheet.
A copper gets a bollocking and a dangerous driver gets another chance to kill someone.
But it's the law so all OK.0 -

I believe the spirit and intention of the law is more important than the letter.0 -
It smacks more of won't pay to me, what about the debt charities, they help come to an arrangement if you can't pay.0

Is paying £1 or £5 a month REALLY that much better than not paying? The debt never gets cleared that way, only purpose it serves is to keep it from getting Statute Barred so that in 2, 5 or 10 years time the company you had an arrangement with can sell it to someone else who may well decide to take you to court. So you basically spend the rest of your life having to worry about your debts rather than 6 years... just so you can say you're doing the right thing and boast about it on a forum where no-one knows who you are anyway! :rotfl:
Yes, at least you are paying something towards the debt.0 -

This isn't a legal discussion forum, it's a consumer help forum. You may want to try Legal Beagles to discuss the finer points of the law.0
