What is the best 'Premier' fee paying High Street current account today?

Hi all,
I have a Lloyds TSB Vantage Premier Joint Currrent Account. I currently pay £25 per month for the privilege.
I was wondering if there is anything better out there for less money per month. The current perks I get with this account are:
• AA Roadside Assistance with Relay, Stay Mobile, Home Start and Accident Management Service
• Mobile Phone Insurance and Save What Matters™ (Mobile Phone Insurance on 3 x phones, as it is a joint account)
• Worldwide Travel Insurance including family and winter sports cover
• £500 interest and fee-free Planned Overdraft (subject to application and approval)
• ID Aware
• Home Emergency Cover (which includes free boiler cover between November and April).
They still charge you their usual £5 per month, if you go overdrawn (even a penny). This is standard for all planned overdrafts across all LloydsTsb current accounts.
I like all the perks, but the cost combined with the mandatory £5 per month overdraft fee (and that's on an authorised overdraft) are a bind.
With the current 'bank account war' that is happening on the high street, I just wondered if there was anything similar for less money (with similar perks).
Any opinions appreciated. Thanks.

I am a Barclays Premier Life customer and I also pay £25/month for this privilege.
I get Breakdown cover (inc home start), Worldwide travel insurance, Mobile phone and gadget insurance (up to £400? i think). Airport lounge access using Airport angel (included in service), Concierge service, legal cover/ will writing service, access to stockbroking service, ID aware (identity theft issues).
Quite happy with the service.0 -

How can it be a "fee-free" overdraft if it has a monthly fee?0 -
The £5 fee is only paid if you use more than £510 of the overdraft.0

Switch to Halifax's Ultimate Reward you get the same benefits as above except the free overdraft is £300.
You can still get the £100 switching incentive.
It's £15 per month, but if you fund it with >£1000 you get a £5 reward back, therefore costing you £10 a month.
The only concern would be if you use the overdraft as over £300 you would be charged £1 per day.0 -
See if you can remain with Lloyds - personally I like their service, although I'm aware that there are lots on here who would disagree!
The next time that you are in branch ask to speak to a Senior Personal Banker or the Branch Manager with regard to upgrading to a Priivate Premier Account. This has all the benefits of their Premier Account with extra benefits on top, plus greater flexibility for £15pm.
Subject to their criteria but you might satisfy this. If not I would opt for First Direct.
Good luck.0 -
You're paying £300 a year for about £150-worth of 'perks'.
I'd move to the Lloyds Classic a/c (free and pays interest) and buy your insurance on the market.0 -
Halifax Reward Current Account.
Gives you £60 towards buying cheaper cover elsewhere!
Don't go overdrawn though.0 -
Halifax's Ultimate Reward is pretty good for the money. Remember if it's a joint account, you can also open a sole free Reward account each too, and cycle your monthly £1000 through them all to get three £5 rewards, effectively making the Ultimate account free.0

Hey thanks for the comment, but i think you have your sums wrong. Yes, it is £300 per year, but I have mobile phone Insurance on 3 phones (most mobile phone insurance is around £10 per phone per month for i-phone). Then I get the 'full monty' AA breakdown cover worth around £100 per year (or maybe more). Then I get afull family worldwide insurance including winter sports (minimum £50). Then I get home emergency breakdown cover, including 24 hours boiler cover during the winter months (this policy on it's own is worth about £150). There are a few more minor perks and I do not pay any interest on an overdraft up to £500.
Now this whole package is worth more than £150.00, for sure....
I am just looking for a way to reduce the £300 per year to £200 or less.... :cool:0 -

Nowhere near £150 in value.0
