Have you though about Wellington hon? There are the obvious good schools in & around Belfast like Inst, Methody, Sullivan, Campbell but there are the other grammars such as Grosvenor and Wellington. Not sure which high school you're thinking of I have to admit that Ashfield looks a darn sight better these days but no idea what the standards are like.
First was Sullivan, then Ashfield, then Priory and then Newtownbreda or knockbreda (can't remember which) Anything's better than Orangefield which was seriously under-subscribed last few years, only 30 pupils in last year but had 110 places
Sullivan is always oversubscribed and so is Ashfield but my Mum and dad's house is near the 2 but he also falls into the catchment area for Priory.
His teacher thinks he's better suited for high/secondary school rather than grammar school but because DS wants to go to Sullivan like most of his year that was put first but the rest were high/secondary schools. I was surprised that Priory was a high school, I always thought it was a grammar.
From speaking to the kids in Wellington (DHs cousins kids go there) and Grosvenor DS thought there was too much homework for him :rotfl:SPC #329 £471/£500 banked
SPC 2014 £1100:D
