Any suggestions on how I can thicken up my Bolognese? I didn't use the jars of sauces but I used three tins of chopped tomatoes and a carton of passata and it's a bit watery. :(

there is a lot of water in tinned tomatoes so I would just let it simmer for quite a while, should thicken up nice then
    Happy days

Actually I am in a way:rotfl: For the first few years of life I lived in a local area called Haverton Hill which was one of the poorest places to live at the time. Inhabitants were known as Haverton Hillbillys:rotfl: The area has long since been bulldozed but it didn't take much doing as it was in the shadow of the old ICI Sulphuric acid plant (in the days before pollution control) and the acid in the air dissolved out the mortar from between the bricks:eek:

Must admit I am an afficianado of american blues/folk blues/bluegrass/traditional/hillbilly/dustbowl music. Did a camping trip once in the states which included the Blue Ridge Mountains in redneck country and definitely felt at times like "Deliverance" (still one of my favourite films):)

Hi Artha , I've a few collector buddies living in Virginia and the surrounding area .
I must admit that I do like a bit of plucking and strumming ,I'll get back toyou in regards when I've a little more time etc ..

It was in the slow cooker for 9 hours. I was wondering if a tube of tomato paste would thicken it up?

It would thicken it but it would taste very *tangy* best way is to transfer it to the hob and let it slowly bubble away for 20-30 mins in a thick based pan

I've already portioned it up to go in the freezer but when I go to warm it up for eating I'll do that. :)

I didn't say that in a manner that was meant be be distructive to your comment, sorry if it came accross that way 4p. i really don't like confrontation, i'm not here for that. Apoligies again maybe it came accross the wrong way I wouldn't want to upset anyone, maybe it was more a reflection of how i feel just now. xxxxx

I fully understand Blondy , I must admit I was a bit 'head on 'in my response and for that I'll stand up and offer my apologies . Sorry .

    PM sent .
