If you're using Windows (which I presume you are), minimise everything to the desktop either by clicking the "Show Desktop" icon or using the Window Key + M together.
Now click into each of the spreadsheets you want to have open. At the bottom of the screen in the task bar, right click into an empty space and you should see options for tiling windows. In Windows 7 it's called "Show windows side by side" or "Show windows stacked". In other versions I believe it's called "tile windows vertically" or "tile windows horizontally".
Thanks Caz, didn't work with the spreadsheets but worked with other aps so handy to know. I have found it in Excel itsself now, its in the View tab  Who'd have thought of looking there!
No excuse now gotta just get on with the job in handCouldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can

Hi, I am using Excel 2007 so may be different for you but try this.
Go to VIEW, Arranged All, Tiled
I then see 2 x spreadsheets on the screen.I'd totally forgotten you could do that! Shame I can't find how to do that off-hand in newer version of Office because Microshaft in their infinite wisdom decided to change everything that everyone knew how to do just for funsies. I was one of the testers for a large bank (and in effect beta testing for MS due to the size of the organisation) who had to figure out how to use Vista and Office. Not nice. Not nice at all but I'm sure MS were glad of the feedback
Great minds think alike (can't remember the rest of that saying thankfully)
Thanks guysCouldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can

This is the 63p salt & pepper set (jar of jam for size comparison). Now anyone with a weak heart or a mouthful of food may want to look away.
This looks like a newer version but still:

Office 2010 starter edition (still haven't installed the full version!) doesn't have a View tab. I can't freeze panes either. Really should look for the discs0 -
