It's a pity you you cant get your doggies a coat especially with cold weather we are having :(.

I know I always think how cold their paws must get in snow etc but they don't mind if we go out the front door they would walk forever but try getting them out the back when the weather is bad lol kane has even tried peeing in the doorway so he doesn't have to go out lol

Totally O/T now, but just back from the doctors, booked in for steroid next week for my elbow but it's been getting me down and I can't sleep with the pain so the doctor has prescribed one 25mg amitriptyline tablet everynight to see if it will get me through the night. We had a bit of a "discussion" about them because I always thought they were anti depressants and I'm not depressed, but he said no in low doses they are good as a muscle relaxant and should help me sleep.Has anyone else ever used then for this, I hate taking tablets:(

Yes, or something similar, zombied me out and had no effect on the pain. I think the half of it is you expect the pain, so your body obliges. My mum used to have pains in her arms at night, she read that book I've been harping on about and is now pain free. It really is mind over matter.

I was put on amitriptyline for fibromyalgia went up to 50mg a night and had no affect on me whatsoever so gp changed me to fluoxetine instead. However my DH is also on amitriptyline for the same condition and it knocks him out every night, to the point where if he doesn't take it he cannot get to sleep.

life is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.

For what it's worth, Nikki, I was prescribed Amitriptyline about 2 years ago for a chronic facial pain I was getting (like Sinus pain combined with toothache sort of thing), which the Docs couldn't attribute to anything specific (in fact they described it as "atypical facial pain" in the end).
I don't like taking tablets unnecessarily either (especially after having chemo 11 years for breast cancer).
Like you, I was very dubious, considering this is an anti depressant, and I didn't consider myself depressed, just in pain.
I can honestly say that I find it helps to suppress the pain, as long as I take it regularly (I certainly notice the return of the pain if I forget to take it for more than a couple of days).
I'm on 10mg per day, or 20mg if it's bad.

By the way, brilliant job in getting HC back.

Hi milliesmum I too take amytriptyline for atypical face pain and alsofor trigeminal neuralgia which is usually the trigger for the atypical I'm currently on a 40mg dose and I sympathise with you because I know how bad the pain can be and how it can stop you doing stuff:(

    Evening all!

No time to read all through today, but am I correct there is a remote control car with 1/2 price stickers on it so DTD, still 1p xmas chocs, something with Iloom balloons - if you could expand that would be great and thats about it bar a few RTC's? Is the mars bar thing still working on the 9 packs?

I found a cheeky one too, Disney Cars 2 6 pack chocolate bars 10p (were £1), mine were in the clearance section but had a box full, so some left after I had a load. It's Kinnertons chocolate, so not to everyones taste, but great to give to kids!

    Hi Lawrie

I found remote control 4 wd cars today thanks to a previous poster it was marked up with a red half price toy sale sticker £15 instead of £30 so a good DTD to be had. also the ilooms are a pack of five with a pink balloon at one end and a green at the other and says mixed on the front going through at 18p per pack. Mars bars were still going through this morning at 10p for a pack of nine.

Apologies if this is a duplicate but need to rush and get the boys fed:

    New 1p item - Milkybar Xmas 5pk

    It's a pack of 3 bars and 2 bags of buttons. B/C ending 9465. Best Before 03/2012.

It's obviously old Xmas stock but I've never seen them before. Good luck.

Apologies again if this is a duplicate but need to rush and get the boys fed:

    Small Boots Glitch

Went to the Advantage card machine hoping the 25% glitch would work (it didn't but anyway). I got 2 of the vouchers for the 25% off shower gel or bubble bath. As it was one per transaction I put the 2nd one through on its own.

Radox Bath stuff is currently half price. I doubt it's product specific but I got the Nourish Bath Therapy (shea butter & ginger). Each one ended up costing a paltry 50p!

    Here's the breakdown:

    Save Coupon Offer
Radox Nourish Bath 2.05, Saving 52p, Now 1.53

    *** Save ***
    Saving £1.03 Now -1.03

    Total 50p

The 25% has been taken off the full price then the half price kicks in so a savings of £1.52 per bottle. :T

    Hi All! :j

Have completely not caught up- only began to read about all the challenges in everyone's day. Such sad news about the youth and the train tragedy. I do not know how you would begin to cope.

Snap-ant, I hope your dad is holding up- that is not easy on anyone! -but at least they had a look at those x-rays!

Those with ill health- I hope you are keeping warm amidst the snow! ...and if you're young (or young at heart! :p) I hope you got to play in it!

I went into Mr. T's this morning and no luck with the Christmas stuff- found a lonely candy cane pack... but this evening I have had most fantastic experience!

At my local co-op they had Whoopsie heaven! All of this was 10p each!!! (even the things without yellow stickers were 10p - as they were today's date, they did them at the till for me!!) The best thing was that I went several times- first went in for flour to make pizza, got a few things, left some for others... Went back and got the rest! - a dozen chicken breast packs, raspberries, spuds, purple sprouting, peppers, fruit galore, lasagna...and there was a lovely lady there shocked at the whoopsies, so I offered here some of the great fruit and she said - no she couldn't carry them as she was on crutches and had a leg cast... I offered to help her to her car, and she said she was on foot!

...So I drove her home and we both had bags full of great food!
Felt soooo good to do a genuine good deed. :)

Hope you are having a snuggly warm evening. I shall now open a bottle of our 1€ chateau bottled wine whoopsied from the French grocery store on our holiday a few weeks ago!! :D
