    Good evening/morning all

I've not been on this thread since before christmas, i got a few cheapies when electrical was going cheap, and i had quite a few good dtd, but these seemed to have dried up in my store, or i was looking in the wrong place. Thought the harry hills 1p nuts were vastly over priced...........lol

Well we've decided to go to new york for his 50th in sept, so kinew we had to save save and save some more.
So i told him, no more bargains, no more visits to home and bargain............because i seemed to spend 7 days a week in h and b and tesco.................so far i've not been since christmas, i just on a sunday plan a weeks meals for us, depending on what morissons has on offer, my local supermarket, i shop on a monday and that's all i buy. I don't set foot into another shop for the week. Today i went to home bargain with daughter and spent £25 on nothing..........honest when i came home and looked into my bag i had nothing worth anything in it.

And you know what i save i've saved a fortune each week not going to mr t, for his bargins, because i always ended up spending more on daft bargains i never wanted or needed.

thank your for all the bargains i did get, but sit back and think........before you buy......i now have and my new york trip is nearly there.

thanks for the past hints and tips.xxx

I should be in bed as Football is early tomorrow playing at 12 because of all this John Terry racist thing but I'm a little annoyed, okay a lot, that our longest run in the cup for a million years has been hijacked by this & now some idiot has sent a bullet to Anton Ferdinand.

There is always potential for trouble as Chelsea have always been our bitter rivals. I just hope no one gets hurt, its not going to be a pleasant atmosphere, with stupid behaviour from both sets of fans no doubt :(.

I've got 3 and still could do with another one:o

I did have three, but then gave one away as we were moving and the new house had a built in fridge freezer.....well to cut a long story short, the house sale fell through when the chain collapsed at the very last minute.(literally 30 mins before we exchanged contracts the people at the bottom decided they didn't want to buy our purchasers house :mad:)
So ever since then I've been down to two freezers which has been a nightmare after being used to three and bulk buying bread for the week etc.
My bargain one today will probably pay for itself in extra whoopsies in the next month :T
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.

Very true, bargins are only bargins if it is something you want or need and will be used by you or someone you give them too, otherwise no matter how cheap it is a waste of money.

Hope you have a great trip:beer:

So that every single post that I contribute to this thread is on topic I would just like to say I am an elite 11+ member and I hear the unjust silence of my opinions whilst I am shopping in supermarkets mainly. Just sayin.

Never normally on at this time of night (usually tucked up nice and warm in my bed:rotfl:) but have been out on a charity fundraising night which I'm guessing raised a massive amount of money for a sensory room for a very poorly little girl.

Wanted to say that I am very happy that patience, perserverence and common sense seems to have prevailed to allow HC back on the thread. Congratulations to everyone involved and thanks to those that made the final decision.

I can't swear in my line of work and find that imagining I am in earshot of children always helps to keep me in check (not that I have to imagine it as that is normally where I am).

'For Goodness Sake' with emphasis on the first word works quite well when particularly stressed:rotfl:. Other than that a lot of muttering works OK too so maybe instead of asterisk the odd 'mutter mutter mutter' might get the sentiment across. My old English teacher (when I was about 13, so a very long time ago) always said people who swear are people who don't have the vocabulary to think of a better word. I think this was a little too simplistic but he was talking to 13 year olds who used f's and b's willy nilly:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So sorry I haven't really commented on anyone's news til now, I've been here but it's taken me a while to catch up :)

T's and A's for me tonight and for the first time in forever, I didn't buy a single item!! Obviously a lurker in my local :( There were over 50 Disney Princess and Toy Story lucky bag thingys when I didn't know they were 1p, not one left today!

Sorry to hear of the sad news some members have received today, nahteb and MKS in particular :( Sending my best wishes, thinking of you and your families.

3Dogs hope the carboot sale went well?? Good luck with another early start, hope you have a lovely weekend :)

    coreysnan... CONGRATULATIONS! :D

FK - STAY ON THE WAGON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nikki thank you for freeing your cyberson from MSE jail! It must have taken a lot of hard work and dedication (and patience ;) ) so thank you....and to the mods too of course :) and CONGRATUALTIONS on 3 months sans ciggies!!! Fab work! :D

Bad day for me :( My Grandfather is getting worse with his Alzheimers and today has been horrendous. My Grandmother had to defend herself against him and ended up with a severely cut hand so my poor Mum's had to go and stay with them again, thankfully though she hasn't been too ill herself today and my Aunty has been helping out too. Still very difficult though, we know he'll detest being in a home and it's a surefire way to finish him off but it can't continue like this so it's an option we shall have to explore :(

  • Hi FugeCake, not a nice decision to have to make but it sounds as if your family has a huge amount to cope with at the moment. I hope they are all ok. I am sure that whatever you decide it will be the best for your grandparents and all the family who are helping your grandma. Big hugs to you all x
