phones4u scam and fraud

I like to report the illegal, fraudulent activities, misrepresentation and scams being operated by phones4u.co.uk via cash back sites.

I applied for a contact from phones4u via topcashback.co.uk site on 22/1/12. I received a call from phones4u on 23/1/2012 saying that my application has been rejected by Vodafone due to credit check. I was also told that phones4u can process my application for the same deal over the phone; however I will not be getting the cash back in this case. Further I was told that phones4u will not process these deals as they are not making enough profits on these.

Phone4u claimed that they didn’t perform the credit check and it was referred to Vodafone. I asked phones4u to provide me the reference number through which they dealt with my application to Vodafone; however they refused and claimed that there are no such references.

I called the Vodafone on 23/1/2012 itself as to the issues they have with credit report (being already having a Vodafone contract). Vodafone confirmed that they never received any application from phones4u for any contract at all. Customer services double checked with their credit reference department as well.

I spoke to phones4you on 23/1/2012 evening again and explained all these things. They refused to accept any of these and asked me to apply again. I was also suggested to speak to customer care and ask them to speak to Vodafone on my behalf before placing the order.

I placed another order on 23/1/2012 and spoke to customer case in the morning of 24/1/2012 and explained all the stuff. I was assured that a note has been placed in my application so that proper and necessary application can be made to Vodafone.

On 24/1/2012, I again called phones4u later in the day and again I was told that my application has been rejected. Vodafone again confirmed that they never received any application from phones4u for me.

This clearly proves that phones4u is involve in fraudulent, misleading and scamming activities by cheating all involved. They are illegally getting benefit from cash back sites and thereafter refusing to progress with the orders received. However they are ready to process the same order over phone (without the cash back). They are misleading the customers by placing huge discounts/cash back offers on cash-back sites to lure customers to their site. Again they are not contacting the service provider for any checks and harassing customers by telling them that they have failed the credit check etc. Believe this is the most simple and easy way for phones4u to refuse to deal with customers via cash-back sites, still however ready to process the application over the phone.

Request you to kindly provide advice in this regard so that these fraud companies can be stopped from these types of scams.

Any information to deal with the above would be greatly appreciated.

There's nothing you can do. If they don't like you for any reason, you can't force them to have you as a customer!

So how do you explain the many succesful applications and cashback payouts? I have one just recently tracked myself
do you think a company of that size would risk loss of sale over cashback?

You may get a better response emailed the cashback sites than a general post here.

You have been told before, you need to seek permission to post here on your companys behalf. It speaks a lot for the place you work that you cannot follow simple rules.
Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug). ;)

You are, of course, technically correct. However, if you look at the content of the post, it is very similar to the Official Vodafone or Orange rep's content when they try to put things right.

Perhaps, with the backing of P4U, Cynder should apply to be an accredited P4U rep as it seems to me that the OP would have been helped by that post.
