Removal of personal details from 192.com..?

  • I have just become aware of these sites and am pretty mad at having to do the work to get removed - so much for the governments 'protect the individual!'. I note that with tracesmart you even have to pay them £10 to find out what info they have on you - so you cannot even find out if they have removed you from their database. Can't the authorities do anything to protect us! Is the Info Commissioner a completely gumless wonder?
Annoying isn't it! You can search for your name with them via:

    tracesmart.co.uk/find-name/firstname_lastname

I'm more annoyed with peopletracer.co.uk as they display the first part of your post code and that data available on search engines. That surely isn't allowed?!

Same thing happened to a friend of mine, they found their name and address listed in 192.com,even though they are ex directory.
They have a phone number which my friend rang and they removed his details. Their number is 08000 887 192,the best thing would be to phone them.
