Student Tuition loan 2012 application

I signed up to student finance last month and after filling out every detail and double checked it, am receiving an estimated amount for my tuition loan of £3,225 when it costs £9000 per year for my study  this lead me to believe that the application hasn't been updated as of yet for 2012 but as of Sunday 22 January the website was down due to maintenance making me believe that the problem which I believe is there due to me being on a low income as well as all sorts of calculators have told me that I should receive the full amount,

sorry I am making this a bit lengthy but I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem? and if so has it been sorted?

Thank you for taking your time reading this,

Jordan

I can scarcely believe that the usual insiders who inhabit this forum have ignored it.

I am afraid I can only sit here aghast at what you reported and at the way your question has been ignored for 3 full week-nights.

Is yours another example of how ineptly executed the implementation of this ill-conceived 2012 SLC scheme will be ?

I don't suppose you have had any further luck with fathoming for yourself what went wrong with your application, jtc?

To be quite honest, you can **** off.

No-one on here is being paid to contribute to this forum, we are all here voluntarily, we can't always answer every question and sometimes we are busy people. Since you are so keen to contribute, why don't you sort his problem out?

Oh wait, you can't, because you don't actually know anything apart from how to bloody moan.

And OP you say you are on low income, are you an independant student? Or are you the typical 18 and living with parents? If it's the latter, your income counts for very little and it's your parents that counts.

Further to the above, if the OP had done a quick and simple search of this forum they would have found their answer. University is all about doing your own research, maybe this would have been a good start.

    I beg your pardon?

I do not believe you have any right at all to speak about me as if I am not going to see your post, and frankly will not stand for it you inconsiderate person.

in fact I have searched these forums for an answer to my query and have found no answer to the current problem.

and do not speak as if I do not know what University is like, I have previously being studying and your post is completely unnecessary.

please refrain from responding to this as I am no longer going to give you the time of day.

just a few threads further down the page - OP, you're not the only one with this problem. the best advice is to just wait and see. it looks like it's something systematic. you're well ahead of the deadline so just hold tight and the problem should get fixed. worth answering Lokolo's questions though, so they can give specific help.

as it goes, this info was on the front page of the board, but the search function is rubbish and new users don't always find their way about as easily as long time users. that said, post 2 on this thread is utterly inappropriate and particularly petty and juvenile. something you expect from a petulant teenager not a parent of a 17 year old. grow up.

fwiw, to directly answer such a nastily worded question - those of us who have already graduated don't know the ins and outs of the current online system..... happy to help where i can, but also won't post if i don't know anything useful to add (or if someone else already has it covered). seems a better policy than just ranting everywhere to make yourself look like an idiot.

So how old are you? Do you still live with parents, what's your home situation?

If you had bothered looking rather than ranting about people who come here to help, you would have found that the OP received an answer to this an hour after she started this thread when she managed to find the other thread where it was being discussed!

"Hi, I am also having the exact same problem! I'm assuming that it is due to it being so early and so many changes being made! I wont be sending off my application just yet, I'm going to give it until the first week in February to see whats happening and if nothing has changed I will either give them a ring up or go visit them face - face ! as the later yoju have your application submitted the longer it takes to actually receive your funding which is going to be a bit of a chew on for 2012

    Thank you Mr Cameron"

Unfortunately, she didn't bother to close or update her own thread or explain how Mr Cameron is responsible.

It's not. A lot of people receive a lot of very good advice on this board. Some of us just get annoyed when a thread or two down the page has the information required and don't want to repeat it. We also get annoyed saying the same thing to the same people in an attempt to have a right of reply. Rather than simply trying to mock and belittle the posters on here, why not actually attempt to provide some advice?

The Student Loan Company is a notorious citizen of a Wild West supported largely by the sort of apologists who treat this forum as their little town - 2012 students are grist to their mills.

I have said it before - judging by who gives thanks to who then a group username might suffice as a more economical means of sorting the apologists from the realists.

Mind you, Lokolo takes the biscuit this time ... young fella that he is, everything in his garden is courtesy of the great Student Loan Scheme - pre-2012 of course, and that gives him the right to tell 2012 parents like me to **** off I suppose :(

The fact that the SLC are in a complete mess to the extent that 2012 students can't apply yet because the SLC systems have not been readied in time is just disgraceful but the worst thing about it is that it is totally unsurprising given their previous record of incompetence.

In their present state I wouldn't touch them with Lokolo's. Wonga could do better, couldn't they ? :rotfl: (actually that's no joke).
